I appreciated it when everyone shared their top SEO tools in this previous thread.

Now I want to know what everyone thinks are the top mandatory plugins that WordPress site owners need to have to have a robust and high performance website (not talking about loading times but marketability).

Appreciate any replies!

If not talking about loading times, but marketability, I go with these(some depending on the niche or type of site):
NextScripts
AddtoAny
Social Login
One for email optin, can't remember the name :/
AIO SEO pack

Easybay pro for live auctions in posts and sidebar
Easyazon to add amazon products to posts.
So I use either depending on client need

I have a lot, so I'll provide a few variations. There are other plugins I would recommend in general, but I'm trying to filter them just for marketability.

Core:
  • Yoast (for OG tags)
  • Microblog Poster (Way better than NextScript's SNAP)
  • OptinMonster (now a SaaS, but I bought when it was a plugin)
  • Anti-Spam Bee
  • Monarch by Elegant Themes (turn off share counts, they're slow. This is true for all social sharing plugins)
Variations based on site:

Link cloaking: Thirsty Affiliates (I own Pretty Links Pro, but I prefer Thirsty)
Membership site: Restrict Content Pro or Paid Memberships Pro
Selling your own affiliate product: AffiliateWP
Display ads: Ad Insterter Pro
Additional social media promotion: Post Promoter Pro
Selling online courses: WP Courseware
Review site: WP Rich Snippets

wp rocket
yoast
some silo plugin which name i forgot
something for copy protection
WP Statistics
possibly imagify or wp smush for images
updraft

As a lot of people is answering, in my opinion, it depends on the website but some plugins that I always install are:

  • Yoast By Seo (Yeah, everyone seems to use the same, but hey, it seems to work!)
  • W3 Total Cache (a lot of people in the thread is using WP Rocket, I should take a look)
  • SumoMe (sometimes I love it, sometimes I hate it)
  • WP Smush (oh, those pictures... :P)
  • And recently, AMP

My dream plugin would be one that would automatically search FB groups, join for me, then post my blog posts in realtime on a cherry picked basis.

This needs AI to work properly
