So a little update for those who'd like to know.
Router 2 arrived yesterday, got dd-wrt running, setup a portal using nocat and Wordpress, created an attractive wifi name, altered the settings and was ready go to.
Took the next step, unplugged and plugged in to my broadband connection. And the router locked itself out, again.
Having tried to reset, factory reset, its dead.
So I'll try return this unit again and buy a different tp link model with high gain antenna.

I thought a long time; what can I do to make money online too? So tried lots of methods on BHW, some worked better than others, in the end it all comes down to the execution by the person. Not by the method, well that's my opinion TBH.

So I thought, what can I do, to make my own method, to make myself feel comfortable with it?
After a while I came up with an idea, based on stuff I've learned from my studies back in the days.
Basically it consists out of setting up free WiFi networks. It may sound boring, but what I do brings in quite a lot of money.

For example. I drive to a shopping center, set up a WiFi network there and give them a landing page like many of the legit free networks. Instead of giving them a legit one, I give them my own landing page. Sometimes it consists out of Google ads, sometimes a content locker, etc. Lots of variations I do with this.

Besides this, they have to register, like most landing pages for free networks, which gives me a lots of different mail addresses, which I use once in a while.

In shopping centers I offer them ofcourse a landing page with lots of shopping related items, so it seems legit.
But besides this, there are a lot of different other places. Used this method at some airport carparks, not far from the terminals, and supplied it with a free WiFi. Instead of serving them a shopping landing page, I offer them a travel landing page, with ofcourse the ads, or a content locker.

Up to now, it brings me about 300£ a day on average for the last 9 months.

I think it was about time for me to bring something back to BHW, the place where I've learned a lot from others. A lot of variations are possible with this method. Just let your mind go .

A point about CPA Networks: It's totally possible to just pick up the phone and talk to your affiliate managers about all traffic coming through the same IP. If you owned a busy coffee shop (for example) I'm sure they would understand that of course the traffic would all come from one IP address.

I think you're missing the point. The coffee shop is an example. You'd have to draw the conclusion that everybody who controls their own traffic, never monetizes it at all, ever... in the world. Which of course sounds ridiculous.

YES, if they stand to make some good coin from different customers, they're aren't going to let a technicality like an IP address stop them. Again, speak to your AM's and if you can, go directly to the advertisers themselves (yes, it's possible).

I DID say that the "setting-up part" is exactly what I think is an issue. The only way around it I see, is to legitimately approach stores, shops, garages, malls, etc, and offer free wifi for their customers and rev share the dough.

The only problem with the "method", is it will make you fuck all like £300 a day, it will get you banned from adsense, and no CPA Network will accept the traffic, other than some shit hole that will steal your traffic. You are aware of no insensitive traffic, I take it. In other words, they ain't looking for random emails off people simply looking for free WIFI. They are looking for traffic relating to the offer. ie, traffic generated by keywords (seo / ppc). It don't take a fucking genius to see the big massive gaping fucking holes in this "method".

And you're wrong. Offers that are designed specifically for UNLOCKING CONTENT are exactly those offers where they are looking for generalized LEADS. Have you not see those pages online? Where to see some content you need to fill in a survey or something similar? Nobody said you need to shove an auto insurance offer (as an example) before somebody connects to your wifi. Put your thinking cap on and check out offers that are more general, like polls for example.

I'm not missing the point. If you run a WiFi hotspot, you monetize it through selling internet access (not exactly a complicated business model). It works for thousands of businesses around the world.

Free WiFi hotspots are usually provided in return for something (you go to a coffee shop, you buy a coffee and can use the internet etc.). You market your products/services through the landing page (you force them to like your Facebook/IG/Twitter page in return for access, you ask for their email for access, or you tell them that if they buy two pints, the third is free). This is what most free WiFi networks use to provide access and there are companies who design the LPs specifically for this purpose.

How many public WiFi networks have you come across where you need to fill in a survey or poll to get access? How many surveys have you found that you can put in a content locker? Advertisers do not like incentive traffic because the quality of data is horse manure.
