My son made himself a password disk. We have changed the password on our computer a few times. But with this disk he is able to get into the computer. He also has told me he can log into the schools computer. How do we set a password so he can not log into the computer. We are using windows 10.0

Change the WiFi password, and add a password to the Bios. Teach the kids there's more than just the now. There's the upstream and the downstream too.

Access his room every couple of minutes and while he sleeps as well, and mostly when he wants privacy and or quiet time. That should teach him it's not about the power you have but how you use it.

He probably has a brute forcer/dictionary attack. Try using your licence plate/number plate or something that isn't a word.
Outside of the OS, as above have said, BIOS password (again, use a decent one, not a word).

Also, hacking any computer is an offence, so maybe make him aware of that before he goes bragging around. You may not turn him in, but if the school finds out, they're not gonna put him in the naughty corner.

I'll suggest he turns him in. You never know what kids these days can do. and as @virtualpurity said, changing the kid will resolve this issue once & for all.

Just my 2 cents.

If you are friends with a local police officer, then invite them to your house in the pretext of the school has been investigating hacking and have him explain to your son the implications of jail if they find out the people involved.

How old is your son though?

Looks like slate of batman movie. On serious note it appears that your computer is having 2 admin accounts and you keeps on changing password for your admin account but other one still same, check in user account or reg edit for second admin and just delete, for his school i am sure they are still using win xp and he has acceessing usung f8 and safe mode.

He is deleting your hashed password from the SAM file. Once he's finished, he puts the hashed password back in the file.He never knows the actual password.
Or it might be just a misunderstanding and all he's doing is running a Live Windows DVD

Does your kid have the latest firmware? Maybe you should update him and see if the trouble goes away. Also reset the modem.

I can reset any Windows password using PCUnlocker boot media. To prevent password disk, you can set a BIOS password to lock the boot order, and apply a group policy in Windows to block USB drive.

Password protect every app on the computer .

That way he get in he can do nothink with your pc lol

Read this will upset him

You can also use a finger print reader where the pc will not let you use windows unless it your finger print.

There cheap know days.

Or you can put the hardrive in a removable drive , take it with you under lock and key ...

Go in the bios set a password and turn off all usb devices....

No matter what you do , he going to bot via cd , all you do is press f8 slip disk in

To stop this turn off or disable in bios not bot via cd ...
.....

Your child seems to be really smart. I would suggest guiding him toward this field in a constructive way. Challenge him to do good things, to create, to learn stuff he loves. MisterF said you should fake a police intervention but i wouldn't recommend it. I had a simillar case with a really smart kid who was a born talent with computers and he actually had a problem with authorities and from that point on, he was scared to leave the house or talk to another human being. A kid's mind is a wonderful sponge for information but you could easily brake him. best of luck. he'll turn out great. sorry for the long comm
