Can anyone tell me what this guy did?

The channel is called "practical psychology"

There are plenty of channels like this but no channel managed to get more than 50k Subs within the last year.
Many of these channels have only like 500-2000 Subs and they're doing Youtube for years.

Socialblade lists something like 750k+ Subs within the first year for his channel
and afaik many of his videos became recommended which roughly gets you like 100.000 to a couple of million views on your video.

Using his knowledge of the human mind to use subliminal messages that compel people to sub?
I'm mostly being sarcastic... But could be at least partially something like that.

if you have money to invest, you make more money, maybe the guy behind this channel is a sucessful dude with a lot of money to invest, and the others that are same niche dont have a peny so they rilay only to youtube to help hthem..

Yeah right maybe he used the earned money to promote his channel and others didnt.
Its all about how you implement your methods.

I have seen a couple of his videos in the past.I am sure It's not only luck or loads of money he might have put in the beginning.
All these views and subs he earned because he shows what you want to know and that's too in an interesting way.
If you look at his popular videos, you will see what kind of topics he target (Everyone is desperate for something).

Just look at his vids, he is creating an awesome and interesting videos. Also the niche is perfect. I just watched his video about being reactive and it was really high quality.

I am totally aware of that but there must be something more to it.

Sorry for quoting myself but
There are plenty of channels like this but no channel managed to get more than 50k Subs within the last year.

there are something like 50-200 channels that do the exact same thing,
same Software, same books, very similar content - so it's probably not only about the niche
and also there are some channels which put a lot more effort into their videos (some channels make even higher quality videos on a regular basis)
yet no one managed to get even close to something like 800k Subs.

Of course, this is the way to go, he probably worked hard and gave a ton of value.
I'm not saying that those videos aren't high quality, good content, good niche but I'm saying that there is a huge gap
between
1st place 800k Subs
2-10th place somewhere between 10-50k Subs

So I guess what I want to ask is:
'What are the things he did so that he managed to get something like 750k MORE Subs than the second best channel (that does the exact same thing)?'

I think everyone who is doing YT can learn from channels like this.
So what the secret? Any ideas?
Someone mentioned luck but it's hard to believe that he got lucky to get something like 8 videos in his first year on the front page of Youtube while others got like 1 and most got none.
any other ideas?
Massive money invest? Ninja SEO skills? :)

Sorry for my English and the long post :)

Thats nothing Beiber did 1m subs in a month. You just need to find the next beiber.

The money make more money!
Maybe he use Google Adwords and Facebook campaign too (or other social sites).
He might be a lottery winner who did not know what to spend on his prize :)

In a world full of crazies, a psychologist is the most requested professional.

He makes videos targetting the statistically frequent mental problems, does it in a friendly way so the crazy people watching don't notice that it's targetted precisely at them.

In other words, he's a marketer combined with a psychologist. Therefore will be a millionaire easily, considering the amount of mental people on social networks.

Does anyone know which whiteboard software this channel is using?

Thanks!
