Currently you can scrape content from other languages, but it doesn't do translation yet. This is something that is on the to-do list.

Hi S4ntos,

I would like to ask regarding generating content, start program -> scraping - spinning - finished. I wonder what happened when it is done scraping 900-1200 articles then on the process of spinning the article as I'm using spinrewriter api which i know is limited to 300 articles/day. Does it mean even the whole process was completed out of 1000 articles, 300 are completed using Spinrewriter api, how about the remaining 700 articles? how come they have spintax format? if the API says it can only handle 300 per day (i unticked the use internal spinner option by the way). Please enlighten me.

The way it would work is it would use the first spinner you have setup, then the second spinner (if you used one) and then internal spinner if you have that enabled. The software itself doesn't follow the daily limit for the API, it just follows the required delay in between requests. I wonder if it could be a hiccup in their system that let you keep spinning?

Do you have other projects and if so are they still spinning with spinrewriter after the limit has been used?

Does it post to Wordpress yet?

Sorry, no Wordpress posting as of yet.

I'm only using spinrewriter's API, disabled built-in spinner. I've checked all the 900+ articles they are all in spintax format once completed. Then when I tried logging on the spinrewriter web dashboard and try to spin an article it would say I already reached the API's limit haha. Maybe the content generator bypass the API's limit as you have mentioned. I can't tell whether the articles from 300+ onwards are process by the built-in spinner as I've unticked it from the settings.

I'm currently working with Sven in the GSA-online forum thread to get the WordPress import working properly, so at the very least, we should have the ability to export to a WordPress CSV properly and import it into a WordPress install. A bit manual, but it's something. Sven is also working on a MainWP export option. So there will be 2 ways to get content into WordPress. I hope they had functionality to post directly from GSA CG.

@S4ntos: Do you know if that is a planned feature? I think blogger and WordPress both use a similar implementation to remotely publish content. I want to say it's called XML RPC or something like that. I would love to see support for that.

I'm currently using GSA CG and I have to say you guys are doing a great job churning out the features. Keep up the great work!

Of course. It scrapes from search engines like Google, Google News, Bing, Bing News, Baidu, Article directories, Blog networks, Huffington post, Engadget, eHow, Public domain image directories, Youtube and other video sites and a lot more.

You can paste in a list of URLS and it will scrape the content from them automatically so yes you can scrape custom content.

Ya, that is interesting. I also use Spinrewriter API, but instead of letting it automatically spin all articles, after scraping is done I'll go to the tools menu > select by filter > then I'll filter out specific articles so they're highlighted, then I right click in the article selection window and choose > insert spintax for highlighted articles.

This saves on API quota instead of spinning everything automatically.

Maybe you're lucky and the API isn't getting limited for you for some reason. If you have the internal spinner unchecked, it won't use that option.

I'll talk to Sven about it and get back to you. Really, SER should be able to handle the posting so we'll have to see if Sven wants to take Con Gen to the level of a submitter.

Thanks @s4nt0s. I have SER and know it can do it, but SER is more geared towards randomly posting. It's kind of hard to tell it to post this particular article to that particular website.

If it ends up being outside of the scope of CG, which is totally understandable, I would fully support Sven creating a software intended to manage website posting in a more organized way, ie:
  • Adding your website with login details.
  • Binding a proxy to it.
  • Selecting which articles to publish to it and when.
  • Etc.
I'm no SER expert I use it in spurts here and there, so if I'm way off base with my assessment, I'd appreciate correction.

Maybe I'll try that method of yours, scrape first then insert spintax later. When i create content using GSA CG I wait around 3-4 hours to complete the job from scraping to inserting spintax, adding images, etc. Again thanks S4ntos!

So Sven is open to adding Wordpress posting to Content Gen and thinks he'd be able to implement it pretty quick since he can take the code from SER and add it to CG to make it work. ;)

Ya I know the spinning part can take a lot of time but that's due to spinners API delay required for spinning. To speed up scraping you can increase thread count in the settings window.
