Huge Drop after disavowing

Hi! After two weeks from submitting my first file for disavowing bad links (like 60) I have seen a huge drop of -80. I submitted this file because I thought I was been penalized for those bad badlinks(#100 from been #9) and at the same time I have been building new quality backlinks. But honestly I don't know what to do after this drop, could anyone share his experience? thanks

Did you collect the list of sites to disavow from Google's webmaster tools, or did you submit your own list you got from Ahrefs or similar? I NEVER submit sites for disavow that Google doesn't include in their WMT list. This, in my view, is essentially admitting that you are actively into SEO and catalog links. I've had a lot better results just submitting from Google's list, waiting for the list to refresh, and then disavowing more from their next list. Google always includes the most problematic links on their list, so if you keep slashing at it, you will eventually got everything they care to mark for you.

No problem, moving forward stick to the list and keep disavowing as Google updates with a new list. Meanwhile make sure you aren't adding MORE shit links to your site as you wait for Google to forgive the links. The last thing you want to do is be building spam links (going too blackhat) while you're asking Google to re-analyze your link profile. Stay as high-end in your linkbuilding as you can, and avoid anything shady.

Disavow is a double edged sword. While it serves as a "no follow" for inbound links, it also serves as a trap, a confession. So watch out for that. These days I would only use disavow in extreme cases. Years ago I recovered a site by disavowing whole domains from most links. Now that doesn't seem to work any more.

Right on the money @bartosimpsonio. Don't use the disavow tool unless you really need it.

I'd worry more about what I lost during downtime than the ranking itself.

I know it happens to everyone but a contingency plan with some explanation like a ‘maintenance message’ with contact info and a rough timeframe to get ’er back up is a good idea. I always think first about my regular visitors and try not to leave them in the dark.

If it ranked high before the down time and you bring the site backup as it was I'd expect the numbers to right themselves fairly quickly.

Are you referring links shown when you click "Links to your Site" in webmaster tools? If so, I'm not sure how you would pick out specific links from that list.
