Picture this;

Website with 100 pages. 90 of those 100 pages are noindex follow but have the majority of backlinks pointing to them. 10 of those page are index follow and have less backlinks but are internally linked to by the 90 noindex follow pages.

Will this still pass the link juice around and help the index pages rank and/or does having a large part of your website as noindex follow raise eyebrows in googles eyes?

Reason for no index would be that the 90 pages would be very light content (images, videos etc).

Hypothetically what would happen?

Cheers guys!

i asked similar thing before but still not sure lol. matt said long ago that the link juice is not lost.

Yeah, it's interesting because dependant on the answer you can launch a pretty diversified link building campaign for the shit people ACTUALLY give a shit about (images, videos) rather than primarily words which search engines adore.

Did you test out my/your theory at all on your own sites?

i llinked not indexed new blog from my moneysite's 404 page = it indexed BUT i realised my free hosting likes to interlink "NEW SITES" this unlucky charm. interesting thing is that it indexed almost immedietely, whether it was my interlink or my hosting interlink. maybe juice didnt kick, but indexed really quick.
I also blasted gsa spam on noindex category on some pet project couple weeks ago, it went slightly up but i had a lot of other links meanwhile made so cant really tell. and it takes months before links kick in anyway

Ahh, yeah you definitely wont be able to tell with all of that haha.

All the best man.

Anyone else have any experiences with the above method?
