Senior software engineer with 10+ years experience quitting job. What next?

Hi all and thanks for taking the time to read this. Il get straight to the point. I'm a software engineer with 10+ experience from A list companies, I have decided to quit my job and am looking for different ways to get income. Do you guys and gals have any suggestions on how I can use my skills to do something self contained? Thanks!

This forum have very very more ideas for custom bot.. I developers too, and I create 10+ bots for automate make money, now i have 10-100 $ per day, and i try make more!

few example:

• reuploading bot
• posting bot (all social or dating site)
• generate content
• auto create site and posting
• webscraping database and post

this idea u can multiply by 10 or 1000... start you VPS, and few aff program, few month you have See you first money..

its great automate more Action and More ideas... more people make This only manually ))) and have nothing Stop... You can start you first bot and develop second bot )) and this repeat unlimited ..

Yes We've got suggestions:

The most profitable option is selling your software either for a fixed price, or as a service online (SAAS). However it will take time to develop the whole project and even then you still have the risk of it being a failure. If you have some money saved/don't have to maintain a family and want the biggest piece of cake I'd go that route (actually, that's what I'm doing).

The other option is freelancing but in my experience it's time consuming and pays well below the first option. In my opinion it's not worth it but it's an option if you need faster cash and has less risks.

I agree 1000% with this comment. Freelancing sucks balls if you're a programmer because you have the power to create your own products and sell them. But I guess it's not for everyone though.

yes its true, i create 10+ custom bots for me... why i not Sell my bots? )
for sell need all soft finish on 100% for the end client and wrap in a box for sale )
Now all my bots are a set of scripts and a file for setting the variables ..
They work and very well, but simple man can not use them ))

What you're saying is that you don't create a graphic user interface for your programs? It's pretty easy, there are tons of panel frameworks for pretty much any language.

It is why I became a graphic designer, after working for 3 years as a .NET developer. I just hated it! All those deadlines, bugs, long hours in the office, more bugs, headaches, even thinking about the bugs while not at work, I just couldn't stand it anymore. Yeah, the payment sucks now, I could be making 3-4 times the money I am making now if I continued working as a developer, but at least I have the freedom to try and test new stuff, a chance to be creative, and most of all it is fun! And when I started working on an app in my free time I thought I would hate it, as I did before, but I was surprised to find that I actually really enjoy developing when not pressured by anyone

Maybe I do not believe that my simple scripts and bots will be someone to buy)
I only write applications for the computer, although it can be run on the virtual servers ...
Can I think about it .. and sell mini virtual farms with ready-made bots ...
it's all you have to think to do ... oh why am I so lazy! )

Cool plans man, you ever think of creating something for VR(Virtual Reality)? C# shouldn't be too hard for you to pick up and from there you can get into Unity.
I'm not 100% on this but some tech experts are saying that VR/AR could be the new gold rush, I even heard that it could be like the launch of the App Store way back.

I'm getting into it as well, I'll post up a thread here to discuss it with other members, but I think you should look into it if you want to work on something that's your own project and could grow to become huge

Yea I am also looking into VR/AR. It is just that I am not famuliar with the concepts behind these technologies, but then again, nothing is too hard if you put the time and effort into it. VR/AR, AI and blockchain technologies are the ones to chase after am I right?

I don't think Virtual Reality will be the new gold rush, because it's pretty much only limited to games and entertainment industries.

The most profitable right now and in the near future in my opinion are: mobile apps, cloud software, SAAS and perhaps IA ranging from personal assistants to cars.

I am in the web industry because it's one of best and most profitable for a single-man. Read about the best performant SAAS startups so you can get an idea of what you can do and what people is buying. If you don't like the web then go with mobile app development. iOS that is, because I believe android's Play Store is like half less performant than iOS, unless of course, you want to develop and maintain two different platforms.

What language do you use to create bots? I mean server based or machine based?

If you want people to buy your bots, you need to make bots specifically tailored to solving their problems/needs. Go investigate what people need and build one with the information you gathered.

Yea man, I'd say learn about both and then stick to one of them and try to get one of these done effectively.
