I am here to let members aware.all that is cheap aren't glitters and no good for business.I lost alexa rank from 158k to 1.6m since I joined this host.

bad servers failure each day, having spent money to redesign my mobile site , I was shocked when hostmetro wipe all data and claim they have disk failure. restored back almost a year backup.I am doomed.my site is forum.I lost members details updated post and topics which k have already ranked some on google page.this is sad.support is so useless.each day their is server failure, and data loss.

I am in process of taking legal action and want to start afresh with a reliable hosting.

Googling the reviews, people seem to have the same opinion as you, thats a shame. :( https://www.google.com/#q=hostmetro+reviews

surely this is partly your fault for not backing things up yourself ?

I always recommend backing up your own data. Most host list it in TOS that they backups are a curtesy. But then again you would think they would have a production server with raid 10 or something and not a single drive so a singly disk failure would not wipe customers data out.

Now granted if you are with a better host they will have more often backups than from a year out which seems odd.

Always make your own backup each month only way to know for sure your protected.

a forum admin makes daily REMOTE backups
thats how we play

Not wanna be rude but you hoping some one shall keep your backups was foolish. It is your site, your money and your responsibility. Even if a host stated they back up my site all day in 3 different datacenters I'd still have my database copy on my HDD not older than a week.

1. golden rule when spending money - you get what you paid for. Or as my grammy said for something cheap we're too poor (I guess that saying translates bad from german)

Web hosting is RENTING space, when you have an appartment is its the appartment complex's responsibility to cover your stuff in case of a fire? You are responsible for backing and maintaining your own backups.

I am in process of taking legal action and want to start afresh with a reliable hosting.

Dare I ask what legal action ?
Presume you did read through the small print, the smaller print and the tiny / impossible to decipher print before signing the contract ?

They'll have a get out re backing up, data loss etc all buried in there, no doubt.

Live and learn my friend.
