As many of you know, I'm big on motivation, but don't post many methods here. I'm all about implementation. Read a method, then do it. Don't read it, then bookmark it and move on (as I used to do).
I've been doin' internet marketing for a long time now, and have made my way not by doing anything special, but simply by implementing the methods shared here on BHW. I'm not the most creative person. I'm not good at writing, designing, or coding. But I am a hard worker. And that's my key to success. If you want to make it in internet marketing, you need to be persistent:
"You don't fail at internet marketing, you just quit before you succeed."
"Don't work hard. Work smart."
I've said it many times, but I'll say it again. If you want to make money, find one method a day to implement (realistically one every couple of days). Read up on a method and don't just think of how great that would be if you'd implement it. And especially don't think that it won't work for you! Day 1 you implement method 1. Then Day 3 or 4 you find and implement a new method. You are now working on method 1 and 2 working 2-3 hours a day. Day 6 or so, you are working on methods 1, 2, and 3, working 4-5 hours a day. Day 9 or 10 you're working on methods 1, 2, 3, and 4, but now you've gotten the hang of method 1 so that cuts your time down and you are doing only 4-5 hours of work still... and so on. As the days go by, you are able to complete the earlier methods more efficiently and they start to become passive income streams (ideally). By the end of the month, you will have implemented 8-10 methods (realistically 30 isn't going to happen as my 'one method a day' saying went). (Now you will also note I ramble) I hope you understand the simple concept of implementation.
What methods? There's a Making Money section here for a reason. Utilize it! What are you interested in (YouTube, Mobile Marketing, Adwords, CPA, offline)? If you don't have anything specific you're looking for, check out the general making money section. It's a goldmine people.
Now you're staring at your computer screen, hopefully with a glimmer of hope, but now you'd like to know what the flippin' title was about! One, it was to get your attention, not as "WOW how'd he make $800 in one year" as I know it's unimpressive. Two, to show an example of one of my passive income streams from the very beginning...
Two years ago I really kicked things into gear this whole internet marketing thing. That is when I really started trying to implement one method a day. When I was 12 I used to hear Jim Cockrum talk about having multiple passive income streams. About how that was the key to success in online marketing. I remembered that advice and started my journey full-fledged. One of the first methods I implemented was making reviews for clickbank products. I can't remember the thread or if it was even BHW where the method was explained, but I made a review video of some products on clickbank and also made a review blog for the products. (Please note this thread was not made to explain this ancient method, but to inspire you to take action!) I threw up this terrible video on youtube with me at the homescreen of the website (not even in the members area as I didn't even have money to buy the product). I just talked about the product (from what it said on the website description) and told the audience that I loved the product and would highly recommend it. I threw it up on YouTube and put it on the review blog. This particular campaign was not from a clickbank product, but a product on a site called Click2Sell (I think they have like 20 affilate products hah). Remember: ONLY ONE PRODUCT. ONE VIDEO. And ONE REVIEW SITE. Anyway, I noticed I was getting a lot of payments from this site and was wondering what I was doing. I checked my account and found this:
The method I briefly described was an income stream I created over two years ago and have not touched it in over a year. Think about it for a second. I've been implementing simple methods like this for the past two years. Trying to do one every day, but realistically doing one every couple of days. I have a goal in sig which I'm planning on breaking earlier than expected. Now, think about how much you would have in your bank account right now if you'd only implemented that method you read about a week ago, or a month ago, or even a year ago. Now think of how you're going to feel at the end of 2012, when you escape the apocalypse and are able to look back and realize this whole internet marketing thing wasn't as hard as you thought. All you have to do is implement.
My 2012 Goal:
Start an Offline Small Business Consulting Company, helping small businesses in my area gain a post presence online.
If you're reading this unimpressed, you're missing the point. This thread was not made to show you a method that makes you $800 a year (although I briefly mentioned it). The point of the thread was to instill a sense of urgency about getting your internet marketing career started. 2012 is just a few days away. Are you going to control your future or are you going to let this economy (for those in the US) constrict you? Start implementing.
