Some Information for Those That Are New to BHW and The Industry

With the influx of folks that are new to the internet marketing industry I thought to share a few things that may help you out and save you from having to ask a lot of different questions. Feel free to ask questions but I'd like to help you out so you have a little bit of a base.

Typical Questions

Typical Q here these days is "How can I get my site ranked {fast|on the first page of Google|cheap|quickly|etc}?" There is no real answer that one can give for those kinds of questions. Determining what is involved in getting a site to show up on the first page of Google takes some analysis and that analysis can be several hours of work if you do it correctly. You will not get an accurate answer to this kind of generic question. If you have no idea how to get your site ranked, go to the below link and hire a provider as there are several very good ones that can help you out.

Typical Q here these days is "Can I get a review copy?". Please do not ask that when a person posts a BST. 99.9% of the time the seller has already provided review copies to other members and 100% of the time they have provided reviews to a Mod/Administrator. If the seller is going to offer additional reviews he will post that in his BST thread. I promise you that the seller wants good reviews but may not want to give them out to every Tom, Dick and Harry.

Typical Q here these days is ""Who's the best {service|tool|CPA company|whatever}." Remember those questions are going to be answered in a very subjective manner. What one sees as the best CPA company is going to be affected, in part by his revenue, his AM, the offers he prefers and other assorted variables. Tools are subjective as well as some prefer certain tools and others do not. If you want to know who is the best at "XYZ", explain yourself well and share what your end goal is so that those that have knowledge and experience there can give you informed answers.

There are a lot of different services available and asking which one is best is going to get you as many different answers as there are members here. Be wise and do proper due diligence and look at the offerings and the reviews and ask the sellers particular questions about your specific circumstance.

Not every service/product is for everyone.

There are a lot of services so take your time and look through them. The internet marketing industry is not the drive through at your local fast food place; it is fine dining so take your time and read up on what is offered. The saying "Only fools rush in" applies here. If you want to help out the community as to feedback, leave iTraders for those that you do business with; it gives feedback to the seller/buyer and it also helps others make choices.

Sh*tlist

If you are going to sh*tlist someone be sure that you have all your ducks in a row. Don't ask the Mods to make a determination without you being 100% forthcoming with communications (skype/email/what not). Also, be sure that you have tried all manner of resolving the problem before posting. Remember, this is a person's business reputation that you are talking about and dragging that reputation through the mud without being 100% sure (ask an unbiased, dispassionate person for their thoughts perhaps) there is an unsolvable issue is irresponsible.

Respect

Please make the title of your thread reflect what you are going to post. Intentional misleading titles are also irresponsible and show a lack of respect towards others. Show the rest of the community and post properly.

This is a big sandbox with a lot of different ethnicities, cultures, races, religions, ages and any other variable you can put on the human race. Remember that when you are posting and do not slam a person due to them being different from you. That kind of disrespect is pretty close to the bottom of the barrel. Play nice in this sandbox and do not treat others ways you would not want to be treated yourself.

Contribute to the best of your ability. Almost everyone can learn something almost everyone has something to offer as well. Sharing is caring when it comes to many areas of our lives and this area is no different.

We are all here to learn how to legally make a buck online. Illegal stuff is frowned upon and generally not welcome so let's try and stay on the straight and narrow for the most part.

The rules are in place to keep the forum in order and it makes sense to follow them much like you follow other rules in real life. No rules leads to chaos and although that is fine for backlinking it is not fine for a forum.

Awesome post! I think some "seasoned" members should take a step aside and take some time to read this, let it "season" in their minds, print it and hang it on their wall, and then go by it every day.

Another Typical Question these days in one variation or another is the one about making money. I personally would not be online as much as I am unless it was about chasing the dollar. Sure the feeling of a job well done, accomplishing something that seemed unreachable at one point, seeing me "win" in certain areas and feeling victory are all very strong but it is the building of the bank account that gets me in front of my laptop or tablet.

Typical Q here these days is "How can I make 300.00 a month?". That question has so many different variations it would be good to use for long tailed keywords if you were building a web site about making money online. We see "can I make money with downloads", "make money getting people to watch my videos", "make money with a blogging site", "make money with {adsense|CPA|Amazon|SEO|Building Web Sites|Insert your process here}" and they are all valid questions.

The problem with those valid questions though is that you should be looking, reading and learning in the "Money Making" section here before asking for someone that has the knowledge to just hand it over like you were robbing a liquor store with a gun and mask. Those that know that information are generally willing to share but to share it over and over and over and over again can wear out even the best man and thus the "Making Money" section. The ones that post methods in there have already cut a path through the forest and made a way and all you have to do is to learn the methods, adjust them so that you are not doing exactly what others before you did, and work the method.

The money will follow if you play your cards right but do not expect one of the more successful members to give you every little step you need to take to make a buck. It is not fair to ask that of them, it wears them out and it is against the rules to "mentor" people here so do not put them in that position... that goes to showing proper respect.

After that do some more reading and see what fits your style and start implementing. If what you try does not work (be freaking patient!) then go back and read some more and try something else... just don't go and post on BHW, "How can I make Money online?" as that will generally get you nowhere... use the link above!
