Is Anyone Else Noticing Violent Movement In The Serps Lately?

For the past week or so, certain niches that im in, I notice that with certain keywords, the sites that are ahead of mines have been different almost every day. I mean I can literately refresh the page every few hours or so and see a different line-up of sites on pages 1 and 2 in google, some time all the way up to page 3. Every morning when I wake up I go ahead and check my serps, Im always at the same position (sometimes im a few spots lower or higher but that's only due to the sites that's ahead of mine are constantly changing) the sites that's ahead of mine are ALWAYS different, 80% of them do not even have the "exact" targeted keyword anywhere, meaning onsite or offsite.

Now mind you, I have only notice this movement with certain keywords in certain niches. For example, with my 100k exact match keywords, in the same exact niche, im not seeing any type of movement and the results have been pretty stable for that keyword.

This could just be temporary but I've heard roomers about google doing this type of stuff more and more as time goes on making organic searches unstable enough to push people to use adwords, whether that true or not, IDK and to be honest, most roomers in SEO are simply just that, roomers.

Anyway, my question to you guy's is, are you seeing similar movements with certain keywords which mimics the activity explained above? Remember, im talking about only a few keywords and not entire niches (unless you've seen this type of activity in entire niches before).

I've noticed this with a few of my keywords over the past month or so.

Yeah, I have been noticing drastic changes in some of my niche searches. When I first started into one of my particular niches, the top 5 seldom moved from rank, now everything has changed and changes every time I check.

A lot of my sites are changing drastically. This started about a month ago or so, I also noticed the top 10 sites for some niches are changing daily as well.

I have hundreds of keywords I target over a variety of niches. I'm seeing this in every single niche for every single keyword. I found it strange, but I'm just going to wait it out and continue link building.

All my sites are stable, some movement from position one to three or four... i have to say it is on de google.nl and all my top earners have local cities in them

Google is being too unpredictable. If they keep this up that will be there downfall.

Yes, my sites dropped from 1. position to nowhere, I can now officially kill myself.

for me today its hitting hard.. some of sites which was in page 3 shooted directly to top 3 and some disappeared! Anyways.. all is fine in love and War (SEO)..

Yea the sites above me have been changing drastically, and i've been moving between 1-2 spots either up or down per day on page 1.

No change on any of my keywords.
Launching a new campaign soon. Hope there isnt a random update.

I've noticed a hell of a lot of whip saw type action with a couple of my sites... On one in particular for a day I will have 10 or more orders from organic search, then for the next week I can't even find my site with a map and a flashlight in the rankings and then bang another good day...

I thought I was the only one getting crapped on by big G. This started around the end of June. Prior to that my site were ranking great and constantly.

Don't know about competitors but my sites have been jumping off page 1-3 since a couple of days

I've seen this also, all of the competitors that are on page one don't have the keyword in their backlinks and the one big brand name competitor which has been on page one a long time is even slipping because they have a lot of this specific keyword anchor as their main anchor text

I tried to keep my brand name as the main anchor text and I've gradually slipped from 3rd to 14th since Penguin 2.0 but its happened very slowly... and Tuesdays tweak made it drop a couple of spots but its hanging on so I must have done something right.

I didn't use anything obviously blackhat but I've bought a couple of High Pr/Good Trust Flow links recently including Sape, obviosuly with pressure from my client its not helping... I'm hoping this is just a dance and things will settle... my anchor text is about 30% keyword and 30% brand in Ahrefs but one of the competitors is higher with 1000's of anchors for this keyword as their main keyword(but like I said they have been slipping to 10-11th just ahead of us)

What do you think guys, do adding Sape links cause dancing like this? I bought about 20 sape links from one provider and some other Sape links from some Russian sites.. so not major vendors that would be on Google's radar. It started slipping before I bought the Sape links, don't think they've even been processed by Googlebot yet so I'm thinking its anchor text variation for sure

Yeah me too. I went from nowhere to page 2 with just a few social signals extra.

What social signals did you use, Matt Cutts said they don't use Google +1's as a ranking factor..... Tweets and Likes influence it though

I read a post on SearchEngineland the other day and they said Cutts responded to an experiment they did involving Google +1's saying it doesn't effect rankings

Well I am seeing the contrary... sites not ranking at all. Month old site, 20 pages, nice backlinking profile, HQ links aaaand... nowhere in top 1000.
My "fleet" of videos is flying around like a bunch of drunk ducks and nothing seems to help.
If this is how it's gonna be, then I am indeed "happy", hope that when the dust settles, it will get back to at least some kind of normal. Though this has been lasting for what? 2 months already.
