First of all, let me thank all of you guys for the helpful guides on this site!
I really appreciate everything I have learned from you.

I haven't found relevant threads to my question (if there is such a thread, sorry for the duplicate), but I think I'm not the only one who is wondering about this.
Let me explain the problem:

- Let's say you found a niche that has little competition
- G lists about 500k pages
- Has a pretty good search volume like 10-20k

BUT: the products are so tiny, trivial, seemingly unimportant like for example shoelaces, that there is no way that you can write at least 500 word reviews about them.
I mean...if you take the shoelace example, what can you write about them that is not repetitive or boring, but informative and is genuine - and most importantly - enough content (for Amazon)?
I think 250 words is a generous guess for maximum length on each review.

On top of that: if you put all the content on a single page, it can easily be overoptimized for xy keywords, but if you create individual pages (for 250 word reviews) that's just absurd.. Besides, we know content is king and is essential for ranking...

So, how would you create this site without Amazon banning you for thin content and having enough content for ranking?

You can always write more than 500 words about something no matter what it is. Write 250 words about the product and then elaborate on other things, regarding your examples of shoe laces write about:

- People who use them
- Shoes they go well with
- Celebs who have worn those shoes
- Long explanation of the material used. (Wikipedia manages to write 1000s of words about everything)
- Correct way to tie them
- The different meanings of different colours
- Why they are better than other shoe laces (Always a lot to write here)
- Exact specifications on shoe laces for sale

I thought of that in about 30 seconds. Be inventive my friend and you shall prosper. Also look at competition!

I don't do amazon but i don't think amazon ban you for thin content. Google does. I personally know a few article writers while i can't write more than one line ( not native English ) about some niche yet they can literately deliver 700+ words content. About shoelace i have no idea but all i can sense , they does a lot of research and combination of creativity writing makes those readable.

Content is king, and everything can be expanded or elaborated in a lot of ways. You can write essays on Shoe lace tips (aglets) and why they're so important. You could expand on the sting of the honeybee. EVERYTHING CAN BE EXPANDED.

Thank you guys for the quick replies!

Natty: Yeah I've been thinking about those types of approaches and you are right. Usually the problem is that there is a thin line between proper conent and just filling the blanks with bs. Thinking about it ..maybe the shoe lace wasn't a good example after all..but you get what I was trying to say.

Weblycos: I was actually banned once by Amazon for thin content...they said something like "There are too many pictures but little original text content with them" Which was obviously a stupid conclusion considering the fact that the reviews were 1k+ and I even had a bunch of articles with 1-1,5k words. The homepage had little content that's true but they didn't look into the individual pages the homepage was pointing to.. so I was a bit confused.
Anyway if you could pm me some of those writers I would really appreciate it. (not native either :) )

i was originally banned from amazon fo having thin content but i added a 2000 word article to the front page and added some basic info (300 words) to the header of every subcategory of my affiliate shop. They were fine with it

Think of some basic things associated with your niche. Broaden your imagination. If you think that's costing you more time( or money) than you can afford, try hiring writers from the content section.

Use High-Quality content, It is always good mate.
