    Default Godaddy = thieves?

So, I had a little problem with godaddy and emailed them to ask some questions... after answering the same questions a couple of times, I gave up on them. Then I checked my Paypal account and saw that they charged me $30 dollars for Administrative Fees.. wtf? How can they charge me like that without even asking or even telling me!? Then they took another ten from my CC... Man I'm so pissed.

Anyone know if I can move my domains to Namecheap?

Well, I found this in their Legal Agreements...
"Go Daddy reserves the right to charge you reasonable “administrative fees” or “processing fees” for (i) tasks Go Daddy may perform outside the normal scope of its Services, (ii) additional time and/or costs Go Daddy may incur in providing its Services, and/or (iii) your noncompliance with this Agreement (as determined by Go Daddy in its sole and absolute discretion)."

They pretty much charge you $9.95 for every time you ask something about your domain.. fucked up if you ask me.

They have never charged me for an anything other than what I ordered on their site (which can be a huge pain) and I've spoken to them numerous times on the phone.

I have hundreds of domains registered with them.. like 400 or so under numerous accounts.

That is unusual and I would certainly ask what the charges were for if I had an issue with them.

I would call them directly cause I been with them for years with hundreds of domains and have never seen that before.

Be careful. They may charge you an administrative fee for asking about the administrative fees you have been charged.

I HATE godaddy because they make everything difficult and suspend domains more than other registrars. But even I have never had them do me like that. I'm not surprised though. I have just started moving everything to namecheap, they don't have as many discounts but they are a better company for SEOs.

What exactly were you asking them? I've called them several times and emailed them once or twice to ask for explanations. Are you asking them to actually do something on your account?

Well, they said my whois wasn't up-to-date even after updating my phone #. I replied few times saying that I've updated the info (it said to reply in the email or they would cancel the domain).... and thats pretty much it. I also called them about the same issue (they said it could only be handled via email)

Yes they are, I just moved my sites to namecheap cause this kind of stuff. Many times they charged my credit card without any warning and charges that I did not authorized.

I do find godaddy a bit annoying but i have never experienced that. It is time you stop using them...they overcharge anyways.

For the love of all thats sexy, WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY would anyone use godaddy?

Take some uncooked chicken, leave it in a closed glass container outside in direct sunshine for a couple of days. Then open that container on day four and breathe in really deeply through your nose.

That feeling of extreme nausia is EXACTLY how EVERYONE should feel about godaddy. They stink of scam, and you should upchuck and run a mile everytime you feel compelled to save one measly dollar by using their noxious services.

It amazes me that any IM/SEO pro would use this putrid corpse of a company.

Ahhhhh /rant. Seriously though, avoid GoDaddy.

A few years GoDaddy stole 300 domains from me over ONE unsubstantiated spam complaint. They never even gave me a chance to defend myself, they just yanked the domains (and all the income that went with them). When I bitched to them about it, they wanted $200 PER DOMAIN to unlock them so I could transfer them somewhere else. Absolute fucking low life cunts alright.

Awhile back, I was researching a new domain on Godaddy. After finding three that were available, I had to leave the site for a few minutes. When I came back, all three were no longer available.

Wow if this is true, I'm never buying from godaddy again. Namecheap looks really good though for domains.

In my experience they have been very good and honest with their customers. I ordered an SEO package for like $84 and 2 months later after I didn't use it they called and asked me if I wanted to get my money returned because I didn't use it.

Let alone their shit load of services that come all checked when you order a domain to find it all close to 50%. Like a bucket of rotten eggs.

The only reason I have account there is to be able to get a domain pushed when I buy a website then immediately push it to dynadot or internet.bs
