Default The Real #1 Reason Why 95% Of You Will Always Fail - No Matter How Hard You Try

@Mod: Please move this thread if you think it's not posted in the appropriate forum section. Thanks.

    Hi everyone,

This is a rather long post. But please bear with me. I think this will be an eye-opener for many of you. But I also converted this post to a PDF file, so you can read it in peace and quiet whenever you like. You'll find the download link at the end of this post.

So, and now let's dive in...

The sad fact is that about 95% all people who go online to become an Internet Marketer will fail in the end. And they not only fail but lose a lot of money in the process!

And all that happens despite the fact that the market is literally flooded with good ebooks, manuals, coaching, membership sites, (about list building, Google Adwords, traffic etc.) that were developed with only one goal in mind - to teach you the knowledge you need to become a successful marketer. And don't forget our great BHW forum with tons of good advice!

But YOU still struggle to make things work for you.

Right now you most probably belong to one of the following groups:

    1. You bought numerous Internet Marketing products (or downloaded them in the member download forum ) and implemented all advice, tips and techniques in your own business. But no matter what you are doing you are just not achieving the good results you are hoping for. You have read all the testimonials and raving forum posts from other marketers who used the products with great success.
But for you it’s just not happening.

    2. You, too, bought every product out there. But instead of using them to start your own online business, you somehow never take any action towards actually building it. Yes, you have big dreams about it. Yes, you can imagine how thrilling it must be to live the Internet Lifestyle. Yes, you study and learn everything possible for hours a day. Yes, you know you should finally start –
BUT you just don’t do it. Something is always
    holding you back.

    3. You have some success already. You might even earn a 4 or 5 figure income already. But your dreams are much bigger than that. The only thing is, you hit some kind of plateau and you just don’t get to the next level. You know you have the knowledge and determination
but you are stuck with this level of income.

There is a reason for it, and no matter at which point you said, “Yes, that’s me,” it’s the same reason for everyone.

It’s the missing link for building the successful Internet business you are dreaming of.

Are you curious what the missing link is?

Let me start with telling you an eye-opening story ( I wrote and published this article years ago)…

    "Don't Act Like An Elephant!"

    Strange statement, isn't it?

But listen carefully because it can make the difference of success and failure in your business and private life.

    So, let me explain...

You might know that in India elephants are used for manual labor. But what to do with them when they are not working? How to restrain them?

Their handlers came up with the idea to program them while they are still very young - by setting self-imposed limits into their thinking.

    How does it work?

When the elephants are still small, weighing around 150 pounds, they get tied up with a very heavy rope.

All day long, the elephants try to get rid of it, whine, tug at it and some of them even try to chew it. But they can't break free. Finally, the elephants give up and the fight is over.

    And now it's getting interesting...

From this moment on, they strongly believe that there is absolutely no chance to get rid of the rope. They accept the
"fact" that the rope limits them.

And with this imprinted belief in place, their handlers are able to tie them with extremely small ropes!

And even as adults, weighing 8,000 pounds and more, they never attempt to break free because they "know" they have no chance at all!

As you can see, the elephants’ limits are not real, but exist only in their mind.

And so are we programmed with built-in-boundaries. They are also not real but exist only in our minds.

But with these imprinted belief systems, with these inner boundaries, we are unable...

    - to live our lives to the fullest
    - to be as successful as we could be
    - to set and reach higher goals
    - to make 10 times more money as we do now
    - to build a successful business
    - to get the promotion and pay increase
    we always dreamed of
    - to fulfill our true dreams and desires

    The point is…

Your Inner Belief Systems Will Make Or Break Your Business!

Let me explain this with a simple 'White Hat' example...

Let’s say you are at a stage of your online business where you have built a list to a certain size. So far you didn’t promote anything but put your efforts into building a relationship with your list members first by providing great content.

But now you think you are ready to give it a shot. You heard about a great product and that marketers who promote this affiliate product achieve great results. For you it’s a no-brainer to go for it as well.

With your list size you expect ‘realistically’ at least 10-15 sales. You put great efforts in creating a convincing email about the product – you hit the
'send' button – and, instead of 10 or even more sales, you make only one.

Depending on your existing inner beliefs one of two things will be happening…

    A. If you have any negative beliefs in regards of your business itself or your ability of running a business successfully, you’ll experience thoughts like, “I can’t understand why this is happening to me while everyone else and their dogs are doing great promoting this product; maybe I am simply not good enough to be successful as an Internet Marketer; maybe other marketers have better lists than I; I think the experts were right by telling me that my niche might be too competitive for a newbie to have a chance to make money.” And so on…

    B. If your core beliefs regarding your business and your abilities in general are positive, you might have thoughts like, “I expected a little bit more, but hey, at least I made a sale at all; I am really grateful for it; I have accomplished something; I have to tell …(spouse) about my success; I can hardly wait for the next email campaign; I expect even better results next time.” And so on…

A week later there is another opportunity to endorse a good product.
If you were the first marketer (A), you don’t feel that enthusiastic anymore but worry a little about the outcome already, but you still create a rock solid email message - you hit the ‘send’ button - and there are no sales at all from your campaign.

Now you doubt yourself even more. Your feeling of being a failure is deepening. You now really believe that something is wrong with your list. You think you entered your market too late to make any significant profit, etc.

And the worst thing that is happening, you are strengthening your already existing negative belief system! And that will make sure that you’ll go the road leading to more and more disappointments and bad outcomes. And finally you’ll quit and will be convinced Internet Marketing is just not for
    you.

A damaging belief, no matter if lying open in your mind or buried deeply inside, will always sabotage a possible positive outcome, no matter how hard you try!

If you were the second marketer (B), you feel great while crafting your endorsement email. You are relaxed and grateful for the chance to make some profit again.

You feel highly motivated, and you expect even better results this time – you hit the ‘send’ button – and (drum rolls, please ) you made 4 sales this time.

You feel even more grateful. Your feeling of accomplishment is deepening. Your self-confidence is rising. And, most importantly, you are strengthening your already existing positive belief that will support you in everything you are going to do from here on.

From this moment on you are on the road to success not only in email marketing but in all areas of your business. Your positive belief, your ability to feel grateful for even small victories (sales) and your positive expectation will get you more and more things, results and circumstances you can be grateful for.

Because it is so important to understand I want to repeat it one more time.

The chances for the first marketer are slim to none to make any significant profit with his/her business. The negative belief system that is controlling his or her life will always sabotage the chance for big, long lasting success.

Bottom line: your perception of yourself is the vital key to your success. It's because of self-imposed limits. Your inner boundaries will always sabotage true, long-lasting success - no matter what you do, no matter how hard you try.

So, I hope you now have something to think about.

Please let me know your opinion!

Can you share how to identify these self limiting beliefs and how to remove them?

You have the main concept very right, its because of this kind of thinking many people do not get what they really want in life and its not their fault, they just dont know any better. I read a few books about similar philosophies but not exactly the same.

If anyone's interested, "Think and Grow Rich", even though its a very old book is incredible for helping you develop the right mindset. Great post since this board is incredible of entrepreneurs.

I m not checking all the post and the external link, but you are quite right about the fact that convincing other people and yourself about being capable, reliable and winning makes contributes for 50% about making you successful. Expressing charisma and professionalism persuades people - this is the marketing.

The other 50% about success relies on the product itself - you must be capable, expert and efficient for real. This 50% is to persuade computers, robots, machines, and to achieve in general what you promise.

lol you ever think about why you even wear clothes? It's not to keep you warm or dry 80% of the time. It's because instilled belief makes you feel funny without them.

That story the TS wrote, I'll make it a sharper image for you: That's the same way they train lions and tigers for the circus. They show them who's boss when they're cubs. We all have this done to us. No lie.

Hell, if someone were to give you a simple box with a red button on it and told you that all you had to do to get paid 500k a year was to push that button once an hour, 8 hours a day... a lot of people wouldn't do it. They'd fuck it up. Because it sounds too easy. They'd be scared of what would happen if they pushed it. You're programmed to trade time, health and labor for a wage.

Meanwhile, the dude that's giving away boxes will be like "why the fuck is no one taking these boxes? Oh well, guess I'll keep pushing these buttons myself."

    That's money in a nutshell.

    Frankly, I can't stomach this krishnamurti-esqe bullshit.

Real-world, consistent success, is achieved through extensive critical analysis.

If you are currently failing in IM, it is because you are not being thorough in your attention to detail.

I believe you are touching on a valid aspect of this, in speaking about self-limiting beliefs. But the how and why this effects peoples' success is complete non-sense. The "magic power of belief" cannot alter any fundamental principle.

For example, no matter what you believe about gravity, if you jump off a cliff, you will always fall. This has nothing to do with self-limiting beliefs in our ability to fly.

Where I see the concept of "self-limitation" being useful, is in our fear of protecting our fragile egos, being unwilling to reveal our vulnerabilities and imperfections, and observing our strategies and methods of implementation, critically.

Do we have a clear goal set?

What strategies are we going to utilize?

How will we measure their effectiveness?

Every element must be substantiated. Anything left to our imaginations will always fail, sooner or later.

Ultimately, are we willing to pay the price to learn?

And when you do fail - are you going to be "big enough" to own it? In the beginning, most failures are due to ignorance - you're new to the game, so you learn as you go. But eventually, once you have the tools and the experience, the only thing holding you back is laziness.

    Laziness begets Sloppy Performance.

Sloppy planning, sloppy execution, sloppy metrics, just being sloppy all around.

Its what separates the Surgeons from the Butchers.

Both make a living cutting flesh, but ones paycheck is a whole lot bigger.

@hevindester: I don't mind that you think this is bullshit. But please notice that the important role 'core beliefs' play in your life and business is proven scientific fact. And your remarks like... "Do we have a clear goal set? What strategies are we going to utilize? How will we measure their effectiveness?" are all valid. BUT you'll only reach your goals IF you believe so at a deep subconscious level.

nice post , I believe in what you are saying; there are just to many ppl that give up to soon or don't believe in themselves hard enough. A positive attitude and believe in yourself that's the key to succes

I believe in positive thinking, but that alone isn't going to conjure up sales and have the money rolling in. Its a great, feel good story, but thats all it is...a story. It got you what you wanted, which was, people to check out your thread. Its rubbish. not a lick of any real content in the entire op. ill tell you why 95% of people fail. It's a combination of laziness, stupidity and simply being unlucky. they were to lazy to do something right, or at all, they were to ignorant to understand what they were doing, of if something didn't go right, they don't know how to tweak or fix it, and its the luck of the draw. you might have 100k emails but if that group of people (even though its quite large) get the emails, they might not like the product, or had a bad day and deleted all there emails. you never know. There is no magic program, marketing tool, or feel good method to get you to the top, its a combination of hard work, know-how and good ol' fashioned luck.

great post... I can relate this to another subject matter for the people who believe "positive thinking" and "inner beliefs" are all bullshit. Many guys have "approach anxiety" and can not approach a good looking woman on the street. Reason being is because of the limited beliefs they were taught when they were brought up. Don't talk to strangers, don't interrupt somebody, it's rude to stare, etc.. Same concept. If you don't believe me, next time you see a hot girl, try walking up to them and talk to them. I'm pretty sure most guys can't even do it... You can learn a lot from the PUA's because they teach you how to get rid of limited-beliefs and you can build a new belief system that can carry over into business and IM.

I somewhat agree with the OP.

I think you need to keep in mind that's it is more than just our perception of ourselves.

For example, I have a full time job and a gf. This gives me far less time to do IM than somebody who is jobless with no life. If I had this kind of time, I would be far more successful at it, but I just do now. I come home after work and I am fuck tired and just want to watch TV shows and what not.

I know I need to make the sacrifice, but it is very difficult. I don't think it has anything to do with my perception of myself, it just has to do with not having the stamina and the time.

I found what the OP says to be very true. The other thing I would add is that you need to focus on 1 project at a time and try to get creative with it. I used to try and keep 4 or 5 projects going at a time and they all inevitably had poor results.

@jnickson: I hope you are not really thinking that people who fail in their business are too stupid or lazy.

Its a simple fact that not everyone going to succeed in internet marketing or even succeed in life. In reality, most of us can only dream of making a million dollars from the internet. If you are dedicated, and know for a fact that money does not come easy, you may achieve your dreams. You won't achieve anything in life by being lazy.

    Great post....

It's called the "law of attraction". The subconsious is a powerful force to reckon with. If you experience failure and not shake it off, you will continue to fail.

Be grateful of your accomplishments and expect abundance. And abundance will come.

All results are consequences of the actions you take. If two people perform the same action, they will get the same results, no matter if one will think it is going to work and is super optimistic, and the other think is a total waste of time and is total pessimistic. No matter what you believe, the actions you take are the ones that determine the result regardless of your believes. Simple and common sense.

If positive thinking helps you do more actions, or do different or better actions, then good for you. But let's not transform positive thinking into a magic pill.

I completely agree with you. For example in India people are so used to do outsourcing even though they know the things which can make six figure income easily. But they are so used to 9 to 5 mentality that they hardly do anything about it and just love to work for someone for pennies (outsourcing). Now that's the perfect example of limiting belief.

My post has nothing to do with positive thinking.

And it's good that you brought up your example. Because if this were true, everyone would be successful. Go and ask all those members here (or any other IM marketers) who did exactly what they were told to do (action steps) in regards to making a method work. You would realize that NOT everyone would have achieved real success.

Again, that has nothing to do with positive thinking or law of attraction. Deeply anchored core beliefs play a major role in everybody's life. Yes, even in yours .

what you think is reality, is what someone sees as bullshit, and what you see is bullshit, is what someone thinks is reality.

Think about that for 10 minutes, its what it all comes down to.

Not really , two salesman doing same job but each has different mind set/mental attitude approaching same prospect but result can be very different.

2 book authors write 2 good books in the same niche .... the first author become the best selling author, the other is not, the later make enough/good income but is no where near to the income level of the first author.

2 singer with same voice quality and vocal technique , the first become famous singer, the other doesn't make it.

People can do same things , processes etc but the end result can be different.

In my view, i think what peter2002 posted above is right.

But, like NickFlame said, two person with same action method would give same result but if we take that 'temporary failure' as a teacher, we will improve our action to get better result..life is on going process and it same with success...

From T Harv Eker said - if you're not doing as well as you like, all that's mean is there something you don't know...

Great, is really agood post, and this video from Frank Kern and Tony Robbins, I think resume what you are saying.

Is what you think, that make you take greater actions, that of course will give better results.

i agree with the op though... every person has something special in himself and every person can make it big if he knows what he is doing. But don't expect a rugby player to be a great tennis player. Maybe he can be a tennis player if he does a lot of hard work practicing (but not overnight)

also being positive is the most important thing. One should always believe in himself and make things see in action for him. Plan right and do stuffs accordingly. With respect to business , it won't be a hit overnight either. Many hit and trial methods will only make a person a better internet marketer and in the process he will know what to do and what not to. Failures should not make you step back. That is why i think if someone is new in any business, they should make small targets of achieving things so that they don't get hugely disappointed when things don't work.

giving up on things is bad.

The reference to elephants is very true. I've grown up in a family of factory type workers, and any time I try to go outside the box I'm met with scrutiny, and told how what I'm considering isn't a sure thing, etc. Finally, I'm starting to realize I do such things because I believe in myself. I no longer have the desire to listen to naysayers who want to keep my genes on the bottom of the food chain. Great post, thanks.

I believe the same applies to relationships with girls.

Mindset plays a major role in IM.

I have always been a firm believer in the phrase "you are what you think".

If you think you can't make money online, you won't.

Also, I'm believe that IM is a business. If you are not treating it like one, you are can't expect to go very far.

We are all responsible for our own success or failure online.
    "Thou shalt not fuck off."
"Thou shalt not be a pussy."

I completely agree. And anyone who has doubts about the subject can go ahead and contact the Psychology department of ANY university. They would all confirm the importance of core beliefs in everybody's life (and therefore in their career/business).

And I also want to make clear one more time that this has nothing to do with 'positive thinking.' It doesn't matter what you think but only what you TRULY believe/expect at a deep subconscious level.

this pretty much sums it up. I think people need to understand the concept of business before they sit down and try to "make money online".

You can think positive all day and nothing happen, i agree that self limitation is what mess up most people in life and why they never put their all into things.

However, there are many people that think positive and get screwed, if you dont have the skill set to perform a job then the job will not be done properly period.
