Big Problem, Who Can help?

Ok so i need reputation management specialist.

Ok its like this, someone is attacking my business partner with slanderous posts with idiotic misinformation, in shitty low life yellow media forums, you know the type like talkgold, ect

Now the thing is when people google my partners name these crappy forums rank in the top 20 results in google. There is only a couple of these forums but its hurting our business for no good reason and just because some idiot is playing vigilante.

Suing these forums is a waste of money, asking them nicely to delete the offending posts is hopeless but i need something done, like pushing them so far down the google results they just dont rate any more.

I need a service, people or person to help me tackle this irritating situation.

It needs to be above board but decisive to deal with these crappy page results and push them out of existence.

If you have a solution or solutions let me know.

Look for the guys on here that do reputation management... lots of Web 2.0s, linkedin, twitter, FB, YT, etc kind of sites will push that crap down in the Serps for you.

Setting up sites that are EMDs with your partner's name with content on them will also help.

Great advise, i don't know what scarier that fact that this crap is happening or that there is an actual name for it.

Bu be carfeull - there are bud guys out there. Once they know that you care, someone of them will start gaming you. Pushing down the entry, get payed, pushing optimized bad posts about you, get payed again to push them down again and so on. I've hear 7878 (mod here) is a reliable guy for that.

My apologies if this sounds too obvious, but can you not complain to the site owners and threaten legal action if need be?

These are forums where the moderators dont seem to really care too much.

Even going at their hosting is seems to be a waste of time.

It seems these days anyone can publish alomost anything and thats what these forums thrive on, they also condone annonimity of those who post their comments without verification or checking the facts.

Topix used to be a good site to make comments, drop a link and generate traffic that banked.

Just assert the site that has the negative information is infringing on your copyright and issue a takedown notice.

It's even hard to complain to the big g. Some guy had his small business destroyed in Britain last year because someone was calling him a paedophile on the reviews section of his places listing. Google did nothing, the guy had to take them to court.

Have you considered responding directly to the comments openly, as an IRL owner of the business? I've seen well-spoken business owners completely negate the effect of negative comments by reviewers. Sometimes it's the competition making it up, sometimes it's former employees (that may have been terminated for good reason(s), and sometimes an open acknowledgement of failure on the part of the business can go a long way toward taking the sting out of the needle. Such as:

Normally we do a really good job at XYZ Company at delivering quality service at a fair price, but in this case we made a series of mistakes.
I take personal responsibility for this incident and have made necessary changes in order to make certain something like this never happens again.
Despite my repeated efforts at trying to compensate my customer for the difficulties we've caused them, they apparently would prefer to write reviews like this one.

XYZ company has been in business for "X" number of years, and we understand that perfection is something one strives for, but never really achieves.
We sometimes make mistakes, and do what we can to fix them.
We love what we do, and we appreciate the opportunity to serve our customers to the best of our ability, and look forward to doing business with you in the future.

That just turned a negative comment into a positive advertisement, from El Queso Grande himself. People are impressed when Owners take the time to put personal attention into something. That's YOU talking to THEM, personally. Major sales incentive, to do business with "someone" rather than "something".

Who would you rather do business with; they guy that ignores negative reviews, or the guy that addresses each and everyone one, personally and professionally?
