Can the G dance send all my KWs back 500 spots?

Im working on a site that Im trying to rank 10 different KWs, each with their own post. The site is about a month old and all KWs were on page 2-3 yesterday, today I check and all 10 KWs are sitting at position #500-525. I find this really strange, how can all of them bettin sittin way back at almos the exact same spot?

Is this a penality or just a dance? Ive been steadly building links, about 10-20 for each page, each day, so anywhere from 100-200 links a day for the whole site. These links only include linkpushes and a private article network (ezarticle link) Thoughts?

You won't be able to tell if its a dance or penalty till after you conitue what you were doing.

I'm willing to bet it is a dance and I would just increase your backlink efforts a slight bit

I really hope it is. I just find it odd how all 10 10KWs got pushed backed 500 spots at the smae time and now are all ranking within 25 spots of each other.
 
You said they were all from the same url right? Just 10 different pages off that urls?

Google just went ahead and bumped down the main site then

Yes 1 domain in the format of

mydomain.com/kw1
.
.
mydomain.com/kw10

All those pages droped.
 
Alrighty, Ill just have to keep building backlinks then. Any idea why it would be hit? I havn't built hardly any links to the main domain, pretty much all to the 10 different pages.
 
a couple days ago people were talking about their websites being hit, could have been a panda update, could just have been a regular crawl and update. Can't really tell unless you are one of googles alos
 
After reading some other stories like mine Im starting to wondering if it cause I added a bunch of amazon aff links to the page. On mon the site had no aff links at all, just adsense. I added anywhere from 5-10 uncloaked amazon links to each page on tues, and got hit hard today.

Im starting to wonder if thats why.
 
I think it is the new Google Update which many people on here are experiencing now ... some drops ranking and some ups
 
Its been a week since this happened and Ive noticed some strange things. Here are 5 keywords, their rankings, and pages that come up from them that shouldn't

KW1 #321 domain.com/page/4
KW2 #518 domain.com
KW3 #142 domain.com/page that isnt even optimized for this KW
KW4 #147 domain.com/tag/kw4
KW5 #565 domain.com/kw5

Why are pages that arnt even optimized for the KW ranking way higher then the page that should be, like my main domain, tag pages, etc?? Ive still been building links on a daily basis and have added 3 new pages of content.

I lost a site in a similar way about 2 months ago. It never came back. It dances between #100 and #500 every time I check, but has never got close to its former home above the fold on page 1. I was getting the strange pages ranked higher thing too.

You been google slapped.
 
You're asking the wrong questions.Are the pages you say are not optimized affiliate or adsense free?

These posts mean nothing until you explain how you're monetising the site.If your are using adsense you won't come back.If you're using affiliate links try removing them and see what happens.

It's important in these sorta posts to explain the monetisation being used it can help everyone see what is getting hit.

Like I said earlier the site was monetized with adsense and was ranking well. I then added some amazon aff links to each page and 3 days later after doing that all rankings droped.

On monday I did remove all aff links from 1 post but so far that hasn't changed anything. I think tonight Im going to go though and remove all aff links from the entire site and see what happens then.

EDIT: I just went through and removed all amazon aff links. All thats all the site now is content and adsense. Well see now if this makes a difference.

That sucks. You said it never came back, did you continue to add content to the site and backlinks after it got hit? If so for long, or did you just give up on it?
 
Hm.... well I have had 2 sites go thorough this and with different results.

1st was 6months old, authority site PR3, ranking top 10 for targeted KW's all unique content and good quality links (didn't do a scrapebox or xrumer blast directly) - changed my theme and dropped all my KW's to 700+ place
Tried everything - adding new content, changing my theme back, building link push and unique content push, good quality profile links, .edu links and the site just remain there at 700+ place.
I already forgot about the site but it started climbing back almost 6 months later (just a few days ago after panda 2.5)
CONCLUSION - 6 month penalty

2nd site was a month old, n/a PR (not 0), not an authority site, had just like 20 links or so and after a link push got to 600+ place for all 3 targeted KW's, danced around for 2-3 weeks and come back to better position than it previously had and got a brand new PR 1
CONCLUSION - sandbox as it was brand new

Try all you can from your side - add new quality content, build a few high PR links and be sure to check your webmaster tools if you have any notifications there

 
From my experience (which recently includes ONLY DANCING) every time you start dancing you come back stronger. The bigger the dance the better you will be when it's done. Sit back and enjoy the ride.

I used to hate them but you learn to love them once you see yourself 7 spots up after it for 5-10 keywords :)

How long after it dropped did you continue to work on it before forgetting about it?
