domain authority v page authority

I'm looking for low comp keywords in Ahrefs and it shows them as 0-5 KD out of 100 so they should be low - no comp but when i dig in to the top 10 sites they mostly have a monster domain rating of 60-100 and shit loads of backlinks and they are large aged sites. How can that be a competition...
