I'm about to try my first campaign with media traffic and maybe zango later. The only problem I am seeing is tracking which keywords accually convert. With adwords you have tools like affiliate radar which allows you to see you converting keywords without having to install code. Because these cpa's are not my products I cannot install the mediatraffic code.
Does anyone know if there is software available that can track this?

I'm thinking about promoting ringtones, debtconsultation, insurance, weightloss and maybe later try porn. I've been searching the internet for some strategies and even this forum but there seems to be a lot of smoke around this type of marketing.

I tried ringtones via MT recently, plenty of clicks on ringtones and ring tones but no conversion. I guess I may have been unlucky but the other side of me thinks that it is just to generic. Honestly I dont know I have never really tried any PPC style marketing. This was for the US market also.

    Dakairo,

For MediaTraffic just grab their pixel and have the network place it on the confirmation page of your offer. For Zango though, do not allow that network to see anything that converts for you or you are just cutting your own throat. They will take it from you. I know, I have had it done personally.

    CpaMaster,
I did a little campaign with debt consultations but I had no succes. I think I will use more targetted keywords.
There is also something I don't understand completely with media traffic, does it work the same way as google adwords with the quotes. I am talking about this:
    Precision Match Syntax:
    target = Complete URL
"target" = URL without query string
    [target] = Query string only
    *target* = Search engine

I used complete url until now but I'm not sure if I should continue this way. Could you give me some advice on this, I'm not sure which syntax I should use.

MediaTraffic seems kind of expensive in my opinion. Category targetted traffic starting at $7 CPM?!! Wth?

On the other hand Zango would be interesting and maybe could do some arbitrage with it.

    Hi dakairo,

This is correct --> target = Complete URL

    However,

Contextual networks and specifically Media Traffic do not operate like a Search Engine such as Google in relation to Adwords. This has been actually one of the largest problems I have tried explaining to ALOT of people trying these networks out. Media Traffic specifically and Zango just do not have the technology such as Adwords. If going for domains, I will show you an example.

    Let's say www.cashadvance.com

In Media Traffic you are going to show for the keywords cash, cashadvance and advance

Sounds like a load of bullshit right. It is. But this is the way it is for now with them. I am actually wanting to meet Media Traffic at Affiliate Summit if they are there. They need to clean up a lot of shit. There is no reason to get into all the variations and/or syntaxes with them. Believe me, I've budgeted thousands of my own dollars and even more thousands for clients thru Adware networks.

Most important rule about these networks is that the long tail phrases and/or domain variations are just going to murder you. Sure you will pick up some winners but it will only be after a lot of money flushed with testing. I try not to go past two keywords in a phrase or domain if I can help it.

Oh yea also - If you are going to get into the debt campaigns make sure to cooperate with your affiliate manager. If it's Andre, he may spill a few nuggets to ya if you take him and your advertising seriously. These Adware networks want your money and I have found that these managers ARE A LOT more cooperative than regular CPA Network managers.

Edit - Media Traffic may seem expensive but I have paid less than 2 pennies per view on just one campaign alone that has brought in over $10,000 in almost 2 months time. Had it been Google, I couldnt imagine what my margin would have been. Also, I have never run category specific campaigns or RON campaigns. I've tested and lost every time. I stick with my keywords and domain targeting.

Zango will fuck you and not just by stealing your campaigns. I'll keep it slim but anyone that signs up with Zango to advertise, I would love to hear your experiences. They give a lot more traffic in the campaigns I have ran with them, but never have I had something run more than 30 days at one time with them. I always get the dreaded:

    Sorry,

We have established a relationship with this particular advertiser that does not allow you to advertise.

    Translation:

We know your making money and since it's our network and we can do what we want,
you have just been fucked out of your campaign.

Who can blame them though>? I would probably do the same.

    CPA Master,

Do you have any good recommendations on what kind of products or offers do well with Mediatraffic?

Thanks for the warnings on using zango.

    Nice post, CpaMaster!

Any way we can move this to the PPV Forum? It would be great to get that forum moving...

Zango will kick you in the butt ... and after a month of using a campaign they'll assume you're successful and you'll find the following message:

"We are sorry but you can not use this campaign anymore as we closed an exclusive deal with this company"

In other words, thank you for showing us what converts ... so you might wanna keep tracking to yourself when it comes to buying traffic .......

For any of these places you need your own analytics. I created my own script to track. Using SubID's on CPA networks and keyword= variable on zango you can do it yourself without using their pixel

    BlackSmack & gabixxx:

If zango is just using advertisers for the purpose of trial & error, then doing your own tracking wouldn't really matter because as gabixxx also stated in their post above, if zango sees you continuing an ad campaign for more than a month, it pretty much tells them there is a good ROI going on and they will use that basic common sense to do their own campaign and cut you lose.

First of all, never use ANY networks tracking pixel, Zango, Media Traffic whatever. Every network will steal your traffic, really they would be stupid not to. Use something like adtrackz and have that pixel placed on your CPA landing page.

I won't run offers anymore that wont place a tracking pixel, its not worth it in the long run. Also make sure to block your referrer from the networks as well. If they see your making a lot of cash with media traffic and the targeting your using, they're going to take it 9 times out of 10.

    Just a quick note:

Media Traffic is raising the minimum amount to $200. And minimum bid to .015

    Got that email today.

Another problem with Zang that I have heard from a person I wont mention... is managers letting out info on other campaigns!
ie you twist the managers arm a little bit and you will get keyword info and campaign info they have picked up from OTHER managers and will pass it on = they then have a client (you) spending good for commisions...the other manager has a client who wonders what the fuck is up with what prev was a successful campaign!

    Danger Will Robinson!

I just signed up with Zango on yesterday and found that all my target urls were disapproved...which was strange because I was very targeted...have you guys run into the same problem. Since its the weekend, my account manager is away to answer my question. I am thinking of moving over to trafficvance, because thats supposed to be a favor if Gauher and Jonathan from PPV Forumla.

Does anyone have any info on how well things convert at Trafficvance?

Not approved because of the target url or not approved because of the landing url in relation to the target url you have used?

Just for info...Some of the PPv's do not like target urls being the same as landing urls. Media Traffic being one in particular.

ie you cant choose home page of thesite.com and then have thesite.com/product or any thesite.com as the landing page / destination url.

I've been an internet marketer for a long while now and I have to say that Zango is the hands down best tool for webmasters wanting to make money.

    Trust me, I've used

    -CPALead
    -Clicksor
    -Adsense
    -PayPopUp

and many more, but NONE converted as much as Zango did. In the past 5 months, I've made over $1,500 with just one of my sites. And now that I'm in the game, I make websites around Zango that convert huge numbers.

The only problem I found out about Zango is how long it takes to get approved. It took me around 2 weeks and apparently I'm not alone on that, lol. Heres the secret. When you sign up under my referral link which is in my signature, you will also get signed up with my account manager, Aaron Foley, who I talk to on a daily basis. He can rush your account through the approval process, and get you ready to go in two days!

If you need help, feel free to PM me. I have loads of knowledge about Zango and am experienced with making money with it. Cheers!
