A few days ago I was reading a post here regarding the optimum word count for video descriptions. For the life of me I can't find that post now but I believe the number was purported to be around either 250 or 350. Also, there were some "doubts" as to how much description word count really affected the results as far as video SEO goes. Any real-world results/opinions to share on this?

Also, any links to some good YT SEO pages would be appreciated. There seems to be a ton of them but with often conflicting information.

you probably wont like to hear it, but even if a super VIP tells you how its done the only way to be 100% sure is to test it yourself.

As far as your word count issue, I don't think it matters as much as the other stuff( title, tags, views, video age, etc.) There are countless video's in the numerous niches I'm in that are top 10 w/ little to nothing in description. On the flip side there are videos that have a freakin book in the description.

Yeah I've noticed this as well. Some of my highest viewed vidz have only 1 sentence in the description, but I wanted to get a second opinion. So sounds like it's irrelevant for the most part.

Title: how to get * for free

description: how to get * for free click urlhereurl

how to get * for free
how to get * for free
how to get * for free
then just loads of variations of the keyword and phrase

tags:how to get * for free, variations of the keywords from the description

That's my way, the videos with one word tags and description are normally uploaded really early of heavily promoted and get a pr and stick in the search engine
