YouTuber crashed planes on purpose for more followers - risks 20 years in prison

It could be another publicity stunt by him.
Or If it was his own plane and he took all the safety measures, then there should be not an issue.
Otherwise next people should be going to jail for creating smartphone destroying videos.

just saw that on Instagram lol, people will do anything for likes and views, I mean at the end they need to stay in the top to continue doing what they like instead of having a regular job, I believe I will do it to in order to keep my life style.

Don't you think these people not so long ago, would have been wearing pyjamas getting 3 squares a day, padded wall paper and chemically coshed to sleep at night ?
Now they call them influencers or politicians !! :)

It doesn't work like that. Even if it was his own plane, he was flying in public airspace, not on some private island owned by his daddy.

He crashed the plane into a national reserve, which would've caused public damages, massive wildfires and would've killed someone. He had taken no safety precautions and it was pure chance that nothing very bad had happened. He wasted NTSB and FAA's time and resources by reporting the incident to them yet disposing the wreckage.

All of that shouts crime. It's like that once incident where a twitch streamer made a hoax threat to blow up a resturant.

You just don't do this shit. Fuck around and find out.
