You could be flagged and they look to see if your views are legit.....
Mine go into a lag sometimes and then release. Seems to me that hey are doing a check on my account... because my accounts stall at different times.

There's no such thing. It's a technical thing.
Database queries cannot be ran at the same time when the database is huge because it would rip the cluster setup apart. Instead, a service updates (for example) channel views or listing views every 3-4 hours, but if you click each video you will see its actual updated view count at any point in time, because its lighter.

My views are updated once every 4-5 hours. I even checked this morning and they've went up since last night. But I might've just got lucky. Don't worry, yours will come in. If you're sending traffic to the video(s).

Basically, everytime someone watches a video on youtube it has to preform several queries, one of them being +1 to the amount of videos liked, to keep the database load stable and balanced to prevent any crashes they cache a lot of the views and then insert them when the db load is lower than average. E.G. At peak times they will cache more than at 1am at different data centers.
Another thing might be that it has something with the new system they recently implemented and moved from beta to the public view. I'm sure it will settle in a few days. This happened to one of my accounts aswell but I still kept getting converions on the thing I was promoting even though there were no views updated in my videos. Hope this cleared up something.

Today it finally updated. It been 48 hours and my views bumped from 5,000 to 12,000.
Also search up your video in the YouTube search engine, you'll notice (I know with mine) it is higher than what it appear on the actual video page.
Like right now it's showing as 12,700 views and on the video search index it shows it has 13,300 so YouTube has been a bit laggy with views.

Mine have updated just fine today. It may just be your video being flagged somehow.
Yeh it might be flagged as i tried to exploit views system.

Yeah, I noticed views not being updated normal for my customers as well. Sometimes YouTube gets like that for a few days where certain people are not updating as quickly as normal.

Same here - they are slowly being increased. Froze at 300 for 2 days and froze on 600 for 1 day
