Hey everyone, I've been following some advice on here. But funny enough, I managed to have a video that was related to a news event so it went viral! It was on Whats popular on youtube and several NEWS agencies "stole?" my video. I'm not sure if they're allowed to do that but it gave me embeds. So meh.

Now I'm averaging 4000 views per hour. Not that great for viral but still GOOD.

What I'm wondering is..what can I do with my channel to grow it since I got a head start? I have a niche in mind..How should I go about growing this channel? Do you think 1 viral video will cause my SERP ranking to go up and make other videos rank high? Thanks in advance

Does your "niche" idea be relevant to your viral video? If so, then you might just get lucky and people will eventually subscribe to you.

Things you could do to grow your channels would be:
    - Having an intro and outro aside from your video content.
    - A consistent upload, let's say once or two times a week.
    - Thumbnails, you should learn how to make one by searching on YouTube.
    - Check your geo stats and upload during the time where they could be browsing YouTube.
    - Always share your video on different social networking sites; use hashtags.
