    Hi guys,

I am thinking to start a website for youtube to mp3 and mp4 converter. How much it will cost to build a site like that???

And what type of server I'd need?

Dedicated for sure. And windows cause you'll need the mmpeg.exe or something like that, which the script will use to convert the flv's

that's a competitive market, long way for top google rankings. and your keyword 'youtube' is a trademark.

i would go with a dedicated linux box in the beginning. here in europe hetzner has some cheap ones: setup 149EUR and monthly 49EUR for a i7-2600 Quad-Core. that's one core for webrequests and three for ffmpeg. you should make some tests how long ffmpeg needs for an average convertion, so you know how much traffic this box can handle. because you definitely need to scale up and if you hit #1 you need to scale up big, very big. as backup i would be prepare a AMI to boot up some amazon EC2 if the site gets some traffic spikes.
and for caching of already processed videos i would start with the space in the box and then go amazon S3 all the way.

and the software part: the cheap one box solution is pretty straightforward, front end + message queue + backend wich executes ffmpeg. you probably can find some indian guy on sites like freelancer who makes this for a few hundred bugs. things get costly if you have more servers and want to be able to add EC2's dynamically and instead of executing ffmpeg have a your backend work with libffmeg for better error handling, that would cost several ks.

yeah and if you don't come up with a good idea for a domain you have to buy one. i like tubeconverter...

Most of the free and nulled scripts out there don't work.

You will need a strong dedicated server which is the main cost. The script itself can be purchased for less than $80 I believe.
