In the Toy Review Youtube space some channels know how to grow to literally billions of views and millions of subscribers in a year. What's the secret?

Please consider the KEY POINT to this post: When discussing the secrets, assume the SEO basics & video quality are already good.

Take two channels that both start at the same time and both do a great job but one channel rockets to millions of subscribers & billions of views while the other fights to 3K over the course of that same year. (this happens and has been discussed here before).
    ASSUMPTIONS:
    a) Both channels have good Video quality.
    b) SEO titles, descriptions, thumbnail etc. are good.
    c) Assume these channels are doing this for monetary reasons so their costs can not exceed their income from real views.

    Theories:
Drip feeding fake views to inflate view totals, raking and popularity to both users and youtube?
Initially boosting a video with views and then pumping it back up with more views when it gets pushed down by newer videos?
Buying an excessive amount of views for a mega, multi million view video?
Having access to free views to pump up a video anytime required?
Do Youtube "Networks" manage this kind of thing for a a cut of the income?

Thoughts? Please try to remember on the assumptions when answering. When all things are equal, how does one channel achieve mega success in just one year while the equally good channel working equally hard struggles?

    Thank you.

my motto was always:[h=1]Fake it 'til you make it[/h]
i can only guess that every good channel started with a great content, that was out in the best timing with a set of viral keywords
building a solid user base is critical, but this can take time and it cannot be faked.

to achieve that goal you may need an ACE - a viral video that will give you the kickstart that you need to pass the bridge to success.
but again the content is the KING, if you try to fake it with low content, you will never make it.

I'm glad you mentioned this. I've asked a question like this before recently. I posted about the superhero videos that were trending all over youtube. It seemed channels created that very month were getting a million views per video every time. Don't want to sound like a hater but that's impossible. But I do wonder what happened to these channels now. Did they cash out and move on or did Youtube catch on. Either way granted even if someone did know what was going on would they let the cat out the bag..?

P.S. This channel called "Naiah and Elli Toys Show" recently blew up out of no where, I saw them in related section of Ryan ToysReview video about easter egg hunting but how did they do that when at the time they only had 3,000 subscribers.

It is rather interesting when some just seem to take off out of no where! But seriously, no top youtuber is going to give away their secrets.

Man, I can't believe you guys made me give away the farm on this. Truly I think it's very straight forward overall. Many of these sites partnered with Taboola, and Outbrain, and they used viral apps and ad purchases to virally create buzz around their channels and videos. Sure there is some gamesmanship in terms of views manipulation sometimes and likes and subscribers, but generally the serious players made the investment to partner with a content distribution network to garner the needed attention.

Many of these types of niche video promotional strategies have their roots in the old ViralNova model. Look around. I think it can become increasingly clear that a lot of folks did it this way.

In the completely spammy niches, this was almost entirely views/likes/subscribers manipulation using various strategies including AddMeFast, HitLeap, VPS/VPN setups, proxies, etc...

And a large number of people in spam niches did spend money outsourcing views/likes/subscribers to some of the folks in my signatures. Even I spent some money there for some of my tests, but honestly I haven't been big on youtube since about 2010.

Thanks for the reply and insight. I appreciate your confidence but I don't really see the big secret revealed. Perhaps I am missing something. It seems to me that Taboola and Outbrain are just another way to pay for advertising like Google Adwords in Youtube. Paying for views through Youtube is a way to find people interested in your video content but it sure can't be the secret because of the cost. I looked at Viralnova but I didn't see anything that looked like Kids Toy Videos. AddMeFast etc. seems likely to be but I don't think a site like that can handle the volume a 4 billion view channel would need. AddMeFast seems to not work in volume as the views are all 30 seconds long and easily detected.

This isn't meant to say your incorrect but some more detail would be appreciated. Thanks again.

Your probably right but do you think they have all figured it out on their own? Isn't there a some middle men like view suppliers or sites that have insight as to how it is done and want to drum up more business? Doesn't this forum have these kinds of savvy techies and entrepreneurs? Aren't there some Youtubers who can't hold back some insider tricks just to prove they know some juicy stuff? How can it be so well hidden yet executed so well at times?

I could list a few but I some how I feel either guilty or concerned that I should not directly state a specific channel. I will clarify that I am making no firm statements on any specific channels but rather I am simply asking questions. So with that in mind look for a channel with a boy named Ryan who does Toy Reviews. This is the largest I've seen but there are others that have grown very rapidly in about a year.

Well it's a popular as fuck niche presumably. They might combine their channel with a website or blog for traffic but I don't think they are all buying views to seem popular.

100% of the replies to my post apparently completely missed it all. I mentioned views providers and middle men. I also mentioned the most salient point that everyone minimized - A VIRAL APP component or other completely automated and self-contained views/subscription/likes acquisition method. Gee I wonder if one guy was using an automated sharing mechanism, and the other guy was not - which one would outperform the other - ALL OTHER THINGS EQUAL?

This is the single easiest mechanism to artificially generate hype and buzz. There are backlinking strategies, on-video optimization strategies, on youtube optimization strategies, PBN linking, and mass spam tiering if you really need it all spelled out.

There is also a function on BHW called search. I don't think I have all the answers to all of life's most important questions, but when I answer I'm SOMETIMES right.
OK a lot of times I know I am NOT right, and I usually say as much. We can let time bear that one out. Good luck out there guys!

    You guys are funny.

    -----
For clarity I said they MODELED their processes after the OLD viralnova model, which is well documented across BHW and clearly illustrates the (perhaps former) glory of this general approach. It doesn't work for viralnova type sites anymore at all, but big players who built solid facebook followings while it was running have been able to funnel that traffic out into their newer youtube endeavors. It's just one strategy. Certainly far from the only productive approach. A lot of guys are still using botnets, so even very old strategies when adapted can continue to be productive.

    I digress ...
    -----
I also remember when this niche was outed here on BHW quite some time ago, but the link escapes me. Quite a few of the specific details of how this model played out were revealed over time by some folks, so that information is likely on BHW as well. Ryan. :)

You are totally right that the niche is very active. I would not suggest that multi-billion view channels are buying all of their views for a popularity contest. The question is, how did they grow so quickly when so many hundreds, if not thousands fail to do the same thing with an equally good product? I have looked for links and blogs and I that does not seem to be common. Thanks for the feedback.

Your passion and emotion is fantastic. Thanks again for your reply and yes the spelled out details are very much appreciated. Would you have an example or a name of a "Viral App"?

    Good, seeing results.
One is gaining 100 subs per day. It is now at 600 subs.
The other one is gaining about 5 subs per week. No kidding.

I'm slowly learning the youtube algorithm.
So we will see where it will take me.

I hope to reach 1k by this week.

    Warm Regards,
    Gorka.
