About a week ago I finished work on a new site, very similar to vixy.net (youtube online converter), but I've been very busy and yet to advertise or promote it for traffic ANYWHERE. Before I begin, as I have very limit time and $, I was wondering what suggestions you guys might have to getting the fastest short term traffic (because with a site like this, just getting quick relevant visitors, will lead to word-of-mouth traffic because the service i offer isn't offered anywhere else ;)). Many thanks in advanced for your help - it is greatly appreciated!

Register on some relevant forums where people would need such a service then search and reply. Check once a day to see if any post can use a reply about our service. Try not to look spammy, make it look like your just passing along some good info.

For quick traffic upload some watermark videos as "have this video on your mobile right now, visit domain.com" to youtube and other video sites and with your niche you'll get some nice traffic

Oh I get it sorry wasn't thinking there. Thanks

Thanks both of you, and I have a little YouTube promoting method I like to use as well, but before I do, what type of videos do you think would be the most effective?

anyone? help is most appreciated =)

Your looking at only free methods? ...Well other places where you can advertise such a service is with crowds that are most likely to also use youtube. This crowd includes people on facebook, myspace, hi5, friendster, and such. There are serveral bots you can use from the sales side of the forum which can automate the process of adding friends, sending them a msg, or adding comments. Ofcourse this is a blackhat method. Otherwise your other alternative is to write serveral articles on converting youtube videos or transfering them and submit them to an array of article directories.
