When adding keywords, are we only suppose to add the keywords that are related to our video? Or, do we add keywords like "Lil Wayne" and "Katy Perry" that have a monthly search volume of 30,000,000+?

Like for example, should I add only things with high numbers even if they are all not relevant?

If you want to rank for a specific keyword, you should only add tags that are relevant for your content. For example the keyword "horse training" I would do:

    horse training,
    train horses,
    how to train horses,
    beginner horse training,

    etc.

    (Maybe a bad example^^)

typically keywords related toward video...random ones can pick up more traffic if done correctly though

Don't use keywords not related to your video. YouTube will ultimately punish you for it.

Only Keywords that are related to your main video. Getting non-related keywords will lead in big bounce rate on your videos.
