"In order to show their muscle, Google has stated that any label—meaning smaller, independent ones—that does not sign a deal with them will not only be left off the new service, but will have their content taken down from the original, free YouTube"

So musician who don't want to work with the new youtube will not be able to post their music videos.

So much for the "You" in YouTube. As always with Google, Big Boys rule, small fries get schooled. Unless they get a cut, your music video gets cut. It's the "don't be evil" way.

In the long term this might be GOOD news.
It will mean other services will pop up.
If you are knowledgeable about the Independent Music scene, then now would be a great time to launch a service catering to that market.
