YouTube banned in some countries

Suppose, youtube was banned in a country in 2024. What happens to the videos uploaded by people from that country before 2024 ? Will these be deleted from the platform ?

  • Accounts still exist: If YouTube is banned in a country, the user's account will still exist, but the user will not be able to upload new videos or manage old videos if they are accessing from that country.
    Access from other countries: Users can still log in and access their accounts from other countries or if they use services like VPNs to change their geographic location. However, if there are strict government regulations, using a VPN may not be legal.

I am not asking about the account, what happens to the content he uploaded on youtube. Is it removed ?
 
No, the videos uploaded before the ban in 2024 will not be deleted from YouTube just because the platform was banned in that country.
 
They ban YT but YT no ban the user so the content continue
 
The content will remain and it can be easily accessed in other countries. But for people in that specific banned country, not only that video, but the whole YouTube website will be unavailable if they don't use any kind of VPN

This is the most likely outcome, because they do the same if you get banned or terminated.

I guess youtube is a growing platform. Youtube is also an online money making tool.
 
No, pre-ban videos stay up but get blocked locally, they lose local viewers/ad revenue but keep global access.

yes! this is how geo-blocks work. When a country bans youtube, the restriction applies to ALL access from that region, including the original uploaders. It's like how netflix shows disappear when you travel abroad. The videos still exist on youtube's servers, but the government's firewall/IP blocks prevent any local connections, so VPNs are the only workaround
