I upload music mixes of one hour long onto youtube. on some mixes ive got 3 million+ views and one new mixes ive managed to hit atleast 100k within 30 days. my recent mixes have been doing extremely bad. i didnt change anything, the most recent mix didnt even hit 10k within one month

what I noticed in the analytics is, that youtube didnt recommend the recent videos in form of suggested videos. thats where 60% of my traffic came from in the successful videos

What can I do? Any suggestions?

With a video that's 1 hour long, if someone only watches for 4 minutes then the audience retention on the video will be horrible. Audience retention is one of the biggest factors now when it comes to ranking videos in search.

If it's possible, maybe try posting shorter videos (10 minutes perhaps) instead of 1 hour long videos.

The odds of someone watching a 10 minute video all the way through are a lot better then the odds of someone watching a 1 hour video all the way through.
