    hi all,

I'm thinking of producing a channel on youtube for a niche subject. For purpose of this lets say egyptian history. If were to chop 2-3 min clips from various documentaries and interviews and add a few sec intro and outro "the egyptian history channel & logo" . Upload 2/3 videos a day. Would I be able to place adsense on these clips? Or does adsense youtube have to be completely original material in order to get paid?

    Cheers,

I would suggest to make your own videos..

Be careful on your adsense account. You can get only 1 adsense account in your name and address.

The content isn't reviewed manually, so I guess you should stick to non-copyrighted content, so if the documentaries are not copyrighted, you probably will be safe. I'm not sure though, so wait for someone else to confirm this.

There are a few similar channels out there with similar content. Some of which I'll use the same original interview / documentary and chop myself. So the content I'll be using has been on youtube for years in one form or another. I simply plan do what others are already doing but monetize it with adsense, create a community and website.

EDIT: as they will be informative/educational. I believe I'm safe to use the content under the fair use act. It's just adsense which is my concern. I have a website which I run and get a decent income off already using adsense so I don't want to take any chance before going ahead with the channel

Hey guys. Does anyone have any feedback on this? I've got a few hundred hours of footage to chop and need to know if it'll be worth my time?

Also, would anyone have any suggestions how many videos an "educational" channel can upload each day without upsetting youtube?
