I just logged to my youtube account, clicked a video I uploaded in the past and I read the message "you can skip the ads in 5 seconds", but they never asked me to became their partner, even if I would like to became, how is possible?

You maybe using copyrighted content on your videos? If you are, then YouTube will automatically add adverts to your videos. The portion of the money goes to the copyright holder.

Oh really? I didn't know that...

What the best way to let them ask to became their partner?

Go to youtube.com/partners and create an adsense account. Although i didn't know they use true view ads on copyright content.

Depends if the copyright holder has a deal with YouTube. I own copyright on various music tracks, and these automatically get tagged with adverts if someone uses the track on a video.

Kendra, even if you have copyrighted videos, they allow you to take part on the youtube partner program?

I don't know about that. But as far as I am aware, if you are using copyrighted content that is not your own - then no, they don't allow that video into partner program. Not sure how that effects you as a user though.

I'm not 100% certain of that though.

If you're trying to become a full branded partner independently with YouTube then they will not accept/consider you with copyright content. Same with most networks that you apply at.

First of all, go to your account setting and make sure "display ads on my videos" is disabled.

Youtube is displaying ads on most it's video's these days, even on accounts that aren't partnered or don't have copyrighted content. To disable it, just go to your account setting and disable "ads on my videos"

However, if you don't have (a lot) copyrighted content on you channel, you can become partner and earn a piece of the money...YouTube changed their policy a while ago so now everyone can get a partnered account, even if you only have a few subscribers/views.... as long your channel doesn't have copyrighted content!

Only disadvantage with the "new" partnership accounts, you don't get a banner on your youtube channel :(

Agree with this. Happens on my vids too.

Your video matched third party content. Go to your my videos page and beside the video you will see a link showing you what it has matched.

I simply remove the video every time. I upload music with video loops and half the time a "copyright free " video loop STILL matches third party content of someone else. So I just avoid disputing it and upload something different.

A few times Youtube have matched my actual music to a song which sounds NOTHING like my own. So I always dispute those and get it lifted within the hour. ( I think it is all automatic anyway )

However your content has matched to, they will get the Adsense revenue earned if they have an adsense. If not, it is simply You Tube who make the money from you.

You also do not have access to uploading custom thumbnails to your videos, creating shows, going live, gadgets/custom/store tab, and don't earn as much revenue. It's actually a big difference.

Amen to that. All I see which they added is more " partner support " in the way of new partner forums or Google staff to help you along. But I have yet to see any of this as I lost my Adsense / partnership just before the change.

Its despicable. I wish Google had never taken them over tbh.

Google took over years ago, not just now with the recent Partner change. But to be honest, i've been inside the YouTube HQ so many times and they only have maybe 10 people? 15? working as partner support to support over 30k+ Fully branded partners and now over i would guess over 100k? or more of these new partners that anyone can become. They are so under staffed it's ridiculous.

Sorry to hear about your adsense/partnership though, i'm assuming you've already tried appealing to gain access to adsense again?

I appealed but knew it wasnt going to work unless I was VERY unique. I used Vagex / Adsense together, big...big mistake.

But I am taking the steps to starting again. It has been 6 months of planning and I'm still not ready to go there. To make it with a new Adsense is a rare thing, isnt it? >_>

Why would they automatically add you to partner program? Is that a new rule or something?
Strange.

That's one of the reasons YouTube likes network. Why deal with hundreds of accounts individually when they can deal with 1 CMS manager?

I preferred when YouTube has the partner forum on private mode where only partnered could join. The community was much better then.

Because you have uploaded a video owned by one of YouTube partner. That's why ads are appearing and all the earnings from these ads will go to the original owner of video.
