I run Scrapebox on a crappy VPS. I run TwitAdder on my main. BMD, AMD and some other stuff on a virtual box on my main.

    Is there a better way?

A dedi for all my crap?

    Multiple VPSs?

My issue is that my VPS is in Europe and kind of a dog. My local stuff uses my real DSL and it runs on my real computer.

    Any insight?

Get a dedicated server and transfer all your tools there. Always best way to get good results specially from tools like senuke x and xrumer.

If you are in this for the long run, make the investment, pick up a chassis and a blade or two and get a spot in a colo...you'll make more money by being extremely productive.

    One dedi versus multiple VPSs?

    Know any good dedi hosts?

I was recommended not to go the colo route when I first started and instead have always rented my servers and it's always done me well:

    1) if the colo server breaks, you have to fix it. If it's rented, the host has to fix it.
    2) same with hardware upgrades.
    3) if you have to bail from that host for some reason (legal etc) then you just delete everything and move on. You don't have to worry about getting your server back.
    4) servers are basically worthless at the end of their lifespan so you don't necessarily save money by buying rather than renting.
    5) if you move hosts you have to arrange shipping of your fragile server. If you're just renting, you just ssh your stuff over to the new host.

To the OP, I would always go dedi over a VPS given the choice, because:
    1) you don't have to worry about someone else using up all the network resources - a VPS might limit RAM / CPU usage, but often there are no limits on filling up the network port.
    2) dedi is generally more secure if it's set up right, there are no potential bugs in the virtualization software that can bring the box down
    3) you're getting lower cost performance overall per dollar spent
    4) hosts generally take care of you better if you're a dedi customer as opposed to a VPS customer
    5) you have less administration to do - one box to lock down and monitor rather than several.
