I like hostgator baby croc if you're looking for cheap access with decent perks...
    unlimited: domains/addon domains/subdomains/mysql databases/ftp accts
also cpanel works fine with fatastico and all the built in scripts
cron jobs easy to set up
    php friendly

    my 2 cents

Well for what I need (which isn't much) I use HostGator.....they are really awesome. It's a very simple set up with them. You go and pick your package with them, the one I have is the Baby Croc for only 9.95 a month, it includes 600gigs of storage space and 6000gigs of bandwidth and the ability to host unlimited domains and subdomains. It's kind of overkill I think but its great! I've got like 30-40 different subdomains and about 15 domains that I host for only 10 bucks a month and I'm not even close to using up my quota. I know they also have a deal going on where you can get the first month for 1 cent if you use the coupon code "jury".

Check em out www.HostGator.com < No Aff link.

For my forum I use KnownHost, they are really great. I've been using them for about 7 months and have never had any downtime at all! Their support has always responded within 5 minutes, every time!

I'm using their Web Micro package ($5 a month) which you can see here; http://knownhost.com/services/srgrid.html

I think it could....possibly. I would maybe ask ruck about it, I know he uses their servers for A LOT of his stuff. He would probably know most about them.

Whoa Whoa Whoa Kingdom, dont go the hostgator route just yet, PM me when you get a chance about the other deal we were talking about and this. I had host gator I maxed out my bandwidth and I had semi-dedicated. The last level before getting a fully dedicated server, and that was only with 250 hosted adsense sites. If you are doing stuff on the level I think you are screw hostgator. You need to diversify anyway (multiple class c ip addresses etc) I use 7 different hosts and while its a chore to keep up with that many hosts, it has it perks (I'll explain later)

Go to webhosting-talk.com and do a search for comment on any hosting company before you make a decision.

Also check out the offer sections for discount deals running at the moment.

    Good luck

    King,

I use dedicated servers, VPS and shared.
It depends on what you want to do with your site.

When you are gettinmg very serious with your sites regarding traffic, cloaking and other blackhat techniques, I would advice you to get a dedicated server.

I have dedicated servers at a hosting company that has very good prices
(dedicated starts at $55 per month) and very, very good support.

Let me know if you want more info.

    Michel

A dedicated is the way to go. When you are going to have huge sites ... then you will need a dedicated server.

Hostgator Swamp is what I use.

    1,000 GB disk space

    Unlimited Bandwidth

    Unlimited Domains

    Unlimited Databases

I have several web sites that get a good amount of traffic hosted with this plan and have never experienced any problems.

I'm currently using a VPS at JaguarPC, which costs me around $45/month. Their VPS prizes start at $19.95/month. I want to upgrade to a dedicated server soon.

Can you send me some information on your host, Michel?

If you need aomse serious hosting, I would recommend LiquidWeb, they have great support, they are not cheap (I pay my server around 200/month) but they are the shit!

I used countless hosts in the past and they are the best I ever tried.

    Worst hosts:

Managed.com Not sure they are even still in business

    Best hosts:

    RackSpace
    LiquidWeb

For cheap hosting Hostgator seems to be praised, I used them for blog networks and they are fine but of course its a shared environment and so if you use too much ressources you will get your account suspended..

    Hope that helps.
