what's catch when domains are cheaper than usual? generally the renewal fee will be above average.Oh wow, spaceship sells registration at $7.88 and renews At $8.80!
Yeah, namesilo is stuck in the nineties, I don't like being reminded how old I am.
Cosmotown is also very cheap, is that a reputable register? In the footer, it says they are on Afilias. I've heard of them, but not Cosmotown.
but the their renewals are dirt cheap too. probably they're marketing themselves as new cheapo registrar in town (never heard of this registrar). then will raise rates in few years.
the day namecheap shut down one of friends account is the day i paid to xfer everything out ASAP
don't let it happen to you from being lazy...but if you're not doing anything to raise eye brows you'll likely be OK.

Spaceship is a NameCheap company and came out of private beta a few months ago IIRC. They're looking to make money from services and a marketplace for domains. Like you said, they'll likely raise prices in the future.
