At a place I worked I was aggregating all of our analytics data to hit a custom API these guys created that would return written reports for clients you'd never believe was written by a robot.

I don't know all the details, but according to them, there are certain markets where they have completely taken over the top 10 google results. They're not running sites, the legit news sites are actually using them to generate their news stories. I think it was like anything you can think of relating to sports, finance or some other things is allllllll just them taking in data and generating stories.

So here's where the bar is set, go for it ;)

Oh, please don't try to get them to write your blog content, I'll look bad lol

I don't get this. So the site gets insights from different places and creates content?
    But this kinda looks interesting.

It looks like they built an algo to take data, and create stories around that data. The clients are the ones that supply the data, and also get the final stories. The clients then post the stories on their sites. The stories are ranked well in google.

Basically, it's just a supercharger spinning service that actually does a good job at spinning.

That's something they've productized, but they can take any kind of structured data and create a solution that will turn it into readable content. If you look at sports and finance, it's easy to get pure data from game stats or stock data, then use an entity database to enrich it and spit out an article.

I don't know what they do exactly, but if you have a good framework you could easily take something like "The New York Knicks" and have something like "The New York Knicks, who are 6-2 in January after a 9-21 start to the season, ..." wind up in your article.

So it's not like a spinning template, it knows what things are, their relationships with other things and facts about all those things. The closest thing to a template would be like defining that when you mention a team it could be relevant to say something about those facts.

Also somewhat related, my last employer was a really popular niche blog with millions of daily visitors and there was an entire team dedicated to figuring out how to develop AI that will take articles from the web, extract them into semantic data, then use something like this to create new articles with the relevant facts it collected from multiple sources. I don't think they even have an estimate of when that will be launched, but there are people putting a whole lot of money into this. It's like having an unlimited supply of people doing research and writing, but you don't have to pay anyone. Total next level shit.
