Hello,

I know this is not really Black Hat....but is there a way to 'rip' a YouTube video to desktop and save it as an MPEG4 or FLV?

I know there is somebody out there that can help!

Cheers,

Dave

Google -> "Save YouTube video"
Clicked -> http://keepvid.com/

The 2 steps I did to find it.

Both good answers...

I like the second one the best....for some reason, I did BHF then Google. Re-thinking my strategy on this I should have done the reverse. :o

You efforts to respond are applauded though. Thanks for chiming in!

Cheers,

Dave

Go to google: Search "download youtube video"
Use tools from the search results to save the video.

To convert to format you like, again go to google.
Search "convert flv to mp4" or "convert flv to wmv" or any format you like.

Be sure after you re-upload back to YT to use the video editor. Cut the video a little bit, add watermarks, new title, new description and new tags so YT doesnt recognize it as duplicate content. I have used savevid dot com successfully doing this.

There are several firefox addons that will do it. Just g00gle "firefox youtube downloader addon".

Download IDM.

Best software that I have encountered.

of course, cracked.

I use download helper as a firefox add on. Will save either flv or mp4
