You need to replace the x with a t
the * with a dot except in the word /d*wnl*ad/ where you replace with an o .

You'll find it's not bad for newbies to You Tube but only basic stuff although it does suggest ways of using You Tube to make money.

So if your new to You Tube give it a look if not don't bother.

I just tried and the link is down.

I did find an amazing little document trying to do a Google pdf search, though.

    Code:
    [url]ftp://fas*sfu*ca/pub/cs/theses/2008/XuC****hen****gMSc*pdf[/url]
Delete **** and replace * with period.

This is a master's thesis and has a lot of data regarding YouTube for 2007 (and P2P). Somehow this guy crawled the YouTube database for a 4 month period (Feb 22 to May 18, 2007) and mapped all kinds of trends and behavior. As he wrote, in November 2007 YouTube changed its categories somewhat, so the data crawled is a bit outdated for not observing the new category structure.

But still, I think the basic trends are valid. And I think it is reasonable to assume that they reflect today's behavior in a general manner. Here is an image extract I made from the pdf giving a general breakdown of popularity so you can get a general idea of this guy's approach. I did 3 images instead of one to cut out garbage and I did it quickly by hand, so that is why the alignment appears off.

I believe the term popularity in this case pertains to uploads and not views. Still, I think it is very useful info.

This is not newbie stuff. Frankly, it's a bit boring, but I hope some people get some value from it. From where I sit as a newbie, I think it is a good habit to acquire a taste for this kind of stuff to properly evaluate markets.

This proves that Music is king on YouTube. Then (by popularity):
    Entertainment
    Comedy
    Sports
    Film & Animation
    People & Blogs
    Gadgets & Games
    and the rest.

Since Entertainment later merged with Gadgets & Games and Music gained its own categories, it is reasonable to assume that they are about neck-in-neck.

I was surprised to see how low News & Politics was.
