    A recent issue came up, i read about it on Warrior Forum.

    Someone's Adwords Quality Score got slapped badly by Google because he advertised a product on his WP blog instead of a static page.

    He got it right off the mouth from a Google representative that Google does NOT like "blog style" landing pages.

    What i got out of this was that his AdWords Quality Score was bad because he used a classic "blog style" WP template showing many entries on the page.

    So..if you use AdWords on your blog, make sure to target a static page without too many links and entries...or use a template which is more "sales page like" and avoid standard and "blog style" templates.

    So google still don't mind the website to be powered by wordpress as long the landing page is not blog style?

    I use wordpress 2.6.5 with many different themes but I do create a separate page template to use for only landing pages without any sidebars or widgets etc. It looks like any other landing page, but matches my theme, and I have no issues with quality score on Adwords. It may just be that google doesn't like the blog style pages as landing pages as ******** already stated. I've never tried myself.

    Also I remove the wordpress META tag by adding this to the functions.php within the theme i am using. This hides the version of wordpress that you are using.
    Code:
    remove_action('wp_head', 'wp_generator');

    That may or may not work depending on the theme and version of wordpress.

    The way I do it is to remove the version call out in the header.php file in your wordpress templates. I still like to give wordpress credit, just not report the specific version.

    Example:
    (header.php)
    Code:
    <meta name="generator" content="WordPress" />

    In most cases the META generator value will be loaded with the wp_head() function so you will not have a generator META within the header.php, but rather this function instead. If there is no call to wp_head() then your method would work but this is likely 1% of themes built for wordpress 2.6.x or higher.

    The method I posted above will remove this META when the wp_head() is called in your header.php.

    Is there any validity to this theory? It is a theory and not fact. I have hundreds of PPC users directed to a blog landing page. It runs Adsense and everything else. The QS of 7 of my keywords is 10/10. The QS on the other 3 keywords is 8/10.

    So who do you believe? A statement that somebody made or my example which is a real world example.

    I've not had an issue with the quality score in my adwords campaigns.
