    hey all,

I just noticed youtube upgraded their upload video system.

Its much easier to monetise a video now. Just click monetise and accept the agreement. Thats it! No stupid forms to fill out explaining what the video is about. No waiting for approval. Instant monetised from now on!

    yaaay!

As I heard not for all countries? I tried to check with my one legit UK account, but was not able to monetize any video, it said deselect videos which doesnt have "$" button on it, none had "$" , maybe need more views? Each video has few hundred views there.

Good looking out, Liam! Thanks for the heads up. As of now (4/19), I've enabled a few videos that had previously been 'stalled' waiting for monetization. They are presently "under review". We'll see how long this takes/if it takes. How quickly were yours approved? Or have they been approved yet?

If this finally fixes the system of slow monetization, things might finally get back to normal with my previously sweet YT paychecks!

    your welcome padlock!

All new videos that I upload are monetised instantly. My advice is upload the video then wait for it to complete the video before monetising. Make sure you can click and wath your new video. Then click monetise.

Then say hello to instant approval!

Very nice. I'll try it with some new ones. As of now, the previously uploaded vids are still awaiting approval.

Update here. The previously stalled videos that I had up...and then, once again, monetized once Liam posted this thread - have just ended up in limbo it seems. The videos are not showing ads. In the video manager, there is no longer the option to monetize them; it no longer says "under review". No notices in my InBox...nothing. This is the same across several accounts.

So, unfortunately, it doesn't look like YT has gotten its shit together. I still haven't tried to monetize a freshly uploaded video yet, however. I just haven't had time to upload something. So, as Liam indicated, it may work just fine in that regard.

Anyone else having similar issues? I'm starting to think that the YT/Adsense method that served me so well for so many months may be dead and gone for good.

I have 100 videos on my account and all but 7 of them were able to monetize within 15 minutes those that didn't I just clicked "do not monetize" and moved on. Have no clue why those videos will not monetize since they have no music or anything like that but your dealing with a computer not a human.

And thank god you no longer have to provide information it was a big pain.

I wish it was available in more countries... Good for the others, though.

(Apologies if this is an obvious question)

Does this impact the relationship/ requirement of an active Adsense account?

I've been sitting on the sidelines w/YouTube monetization because I've heard so many horror stories of (totally innocent, white hat) people getting their monetization shut off.

If this is intermingled w/Adsense, the consequences are severe- no monetization without getting a new Adsense account (which is... a chore/maze). But if monetization if just attached to a Youtube account, the risk seems more bearable.
