...when instead of double-clicking with the mouse to open a program, you click it once with the mouse to select it and press enter on the keyboard to open it...

It's faster.. I think! Doing it that way my mouse is already on the other side of the screen doing a click by the time I press enter. Versus doing a double-click with the mouse and then moving the pointer for the next click I got to do.

I am excited and depressed now. Am I tripping? :D
 
Don't u have a double click button to click?

I have a left click and a right click and the wheel.

I also have 2 buttons by my thumb. They do front and back for example in a browser. But I never use those other than the accidental click on a rare occasion, that just annoys me.

My brain can only handle 3 buttons :p

Though I guess I could perhaps program the mouse to make one of the buttons by the thumb do a double click with 1 click... or maybe I can somehow make certain shortcuts always open with 1 click instead of 2 clicks...

Damn, what a great fucking idea. Yeah, micromanage the shit out of everything, yay! :D

No you are right, it requires a lot less effort, definitely worth it :D
 
I can’t even work out what you are talking about, 1 button at a time I can just about handle
