Man I really miss the browser wars. I especially miss the search engine wars.

    http://techcrunch.com/2014/12/12/yahoo-starts-prompting-chrome-users-to-upgrade-to-firefox/

If you?re visiting any Yahoo property today, chances are you?ll see an ?Upgrade to the new Firefox? link in the top-right corner of your browser window. The prompt also appears if you?re using Internet Explorer, Opera and even the new Yandex browser. However, the prompt is missing from Safari, which will surely prompt a new round of speculation about Apple?s rumored switch to Yahoo as its default search engine.

[IMG]Given that Firefox now uses Yahoo as its default search engine, this move doesn?t come as a huge surprise. Yahoo clearly wants as many people as possible to use Firefox ? and with it its search engine (which is powered by Microsoft Bing).

Good. Firefox is insecure as fuck and Chrome has proven to be pretty rock solid. More FF users is great news for blackhatters :)

I did not know Yandex has a browser. I am downloading it now. I think all the major browsers are too heavy. Looking forward to Yandex browser.

This notification doesn't show for Chrome on Linux. Why code it to only appear for windows or Apple users?

Probably cuz the linux crowd is tech informed and usually have their mind made up with Chrome or Firefox and won't change because of an ad.
