Pocket money lol
hell of a pocket.
As long as Yahoo doesn't ban porn I'll be fine.
Hopefully the management will be better if tumblr gets purchased.
Currently tumblr is extremely ban happy. They ban blogs left and right.
I created a blog, didn't even post a single thing and already was banned.
Wonder if google will start de-valuing tumblr now that yahoo owns it
Tumblr will sink. Tumblr is geared towards a young audience that's not use to any ads. The moment Yahoo commercializes it, meaning put ads up, it's finished.
I have read that tumblr is the #1 porn website in the world! How's that ?!!
Let's just hope for the best... And I was getting ready to heavily invest in Tumblr too
Nice. bing ppc is more valuable now. Much more traffic.
tumblr is just like a pic blog basically right? man...these billion dollar sites dont need innovation they just need people going to them
I thought they would be worth more... I think Yahoo tried to buy Facebook for 1B, but Zuckerburg turned them down.
Ya I thought they would be worth more as well.....
I think this is a good move on Yahoo's part as well. It's definitely going to help funnel more traffic
This is probably a smart move....seems their new CEO is using her Google powers for good @ yahoo.
Yahoo said: "we would you like to Google-size that next acquisition please."
Haha it would allign pwrfectly with the big g
Everything's getting bought by the big boys recently...
This seems like a big mistake to me. I don't trust tumblr to maintain a long-term presence and not go the myspace/digg route, and the monetizing opportunities seem very low. Regardless, will have to see how it pans out.
Hopefully Yahoo will do better with this buy than they have in the past. Yahoo somehow has a knack for destroying what they purchase.
To shred on some positives, think of it this ways guys.
Who uses Yahoo mail?
And let's not forget, their domain service?
I'm personally using all three, so perhaps it isn't all bad, but it will be interesting to see how they monetize Tumblr.
Also curious, how does Tumblr monetize itself at the moment? Were they just funded?
That will be the first to go. You think yahoo advertisers are going to want their adds all over porn blogs?
