I have spent some time doing lots of SEO work on a new site for some keywords that are probably too big for my boots.

Keyword 1 - 6,000 Exact Match Searches on Google Keyword Tool
Keyword 2 - 6,600 Exact Match Searches on Google Keyword Tool

Now to my delight, 7 days ago, I found that on Yahoo and Bing, I was position 4 on PAGE ONE and still am for both keywords!! Now am I naive that rankings for keywords like this should equal a bajillion hits?

In the 7 days I've been number 4 on page 1, I have received 1 click from these two keywords via Bing & Yahoo.

Looking into Bing's version of Webmaster Tools, for 2 keywords that, on google, would generate at least 12,600 impressions a month, or 420 a day. Bing is giving me, on average 260 impressions (per day).

Once again, I repeat ONE CLICK!!!!!!

Is it even worth bothering with Bing & Yahoo?
Does anyone else get anything good out of them?
At position 4 for 260 impressions a day, should I be getting more click-throughs?

Those numbers are for the number 1 spot. At number 4 you only get about 4% of that or less in Google since the KW tool is for google search engine. Only like 15% of people actually use yahoo or bing so.

At 4% of 260 impressions over 7 days. That should give me 72 clicks. I got one in that time. Yahoo/Bing suck!

Note that when you get the keyword stats from google or bing it's usually for the entire month. So that means 6000 searches per month, not per day.

You're basing your calculations on 260 searches per day from bing, I'm pretty sure that's 260 per month. If it's not, that means 260 * 30 = 7800 searches per month from bing when google only gets 6000, bing should be less.

I'm pretty sure that 260 searches from bing is for the entire month. That would mean at position 4 you'd see about 10 clicks a month.

Don't base off of 6000 Thats how many people search in G.

In Yahoo its problably close to like 2000 or less lol

So 4% of that is 80 per month which is like 3 visits a day

Might be off I'm tired lol

Got to remember though, Yahoo and Bing draw a different crowd too.

BTW, how did you check your rankings? G really is all you should worry about at least for the next couple of years :)

Also, you didn't say how you rank in google? Perhaps its a crappy keyword, or you have an authority site ahead of you.

Not sure what your doing fooling around with bing or yahoo, especially the stupid ass webmaster tools. Never go to bing or yahoo again. If your not ranking in G, forget it.

That being said, I find my Yahoo traffic converts quite well.... but thats just a bonus. Dont base any descision on bing or yahoo, but let them come naturally.

I've noticed that G keyword tool gives inaccurate information for certain terms. Perhaps the search volumes are heavily inflated due to automated queries, but regardless, the traffic may not be there.

I've ranked numerous sites to the #1 spot on G for terms they listed large [Exact] search volumes only to find the traffic simply wasn't there. The terms that seem to have the most inaccurate search volumes are highly competitive terms with CPC at $20.00+. So, the most likely reason for the [FONT=&quot]discrepancies would be IM automated rank queries.

Yahoo and Bing certainly receive less traffic, but you may find that your term won't bring huge traffic even if you rank in the top 3 on G.

Was never a fan of Bing or Yahoo. Maybe back in the day for Yahoo, but as Google is basically running things these days I kind of never bother with the other two anymore.
