Yahoo Beats Out Google in Unique Visits Last Month

Still nowhere close to getting the amount of money Google does off their traffic, though.
 
well Googles results are obviously not giving searchers what they are looking for. searchers now find themselves clicking up into the 10th page of google because good results are no longer being displayed. they will continue to lose market share until they go back to their ranking system from around 2010. This is why G snatched up Motorola because they know their days in search are numbered.

It's unique visits, which only counts each IP address one time only.

^ Apparently they excluded tumblr from the stats gathering, but I suppose they still could be doing something to funnel some of that traffic. Making the tumblr search function use yahoo or something.. idk.. doesn't really look like they're doing anything from the front end, but I haven't gone through the data. And front end means pretty much nothing.

No. The ComScore Yahoo stats excluded Tumblr. That was noted in the news story as that was the first thing that came to my mind too. :)
 
It has to do with all the companies yahoo is buying up tumblr,etc.
Not Yahoo Search Engine.
 
It's due to a million scammers running Yahoo! Mail accounts behind US proxies. :P

This isn't significant news. Fact is, Yahoo has always been close to Google in unique visits. Believe it or not, Yahoo is still a massive entity. The last time this happened was only a couple of years ago. Tumblr was not counted, but neither was mobile traffic. Google's mobile presence destroys Yahoo's, so if mobile traffic had been counted, Google would certainly be ahead.
