When posting with a link to your site, is it best to post on questions just created, or questions that are about to close? I got two ideas on this and I'm not sure which is the best... Post on newest questions: You got five days where there are people who are looking at them to possibly answer that can also see your link, especially if you're the first one to post, and over five days, I'm guessing that the first five days will get the most views to the question, *BUT* you also got five days where the link competition posters that come and post their own link can also try to delete your linked answer. Obviously a very good quality answer still won't keep some of the competition from trying to get your answer deleted. Post on questions that are about to close: You can see what the competition is like, how good of an answer you'll need to post, the competition has way less time to post and possibly delete your own post, and most of the competition has probably moved on to newer questions, and you have to wait way less time before it ends and you can vote for yourself. But over the first five days, you'll probably get way less views, but over months and years after it closes, the less competition to delete your answer will greatly make up for it. Any one have any ideas, or should I try doing some tests on this?
