So tonight I decided to let the cat out of the bag on an excellent source of traffic that most overlook in my opinion and that is Yahoo Answers. For the past month almost 2 I have been experimenting with Y! Answers and have had traffic growing decently with no back links and traffic is pretty decent or higher than the day before.

For a little bit of a background on the experiment I wanted to know if there was any niches I could target very specifically without all the work gaining back links and trying to beat competition. For some reason I started taking a look at Y! Answers and found a very competitive niche and started a site using WordPress about the certain niche. From there I made a theme, added content, and of course Adsense.

After I had a couple articles (6-8) I started promoting on Y! Answers. I made sure to focus on questions that I focused on in my articles and that where high paying. I found out the keywords that went along with my niche using Traffic Travis. Anyways once you have articles and want to answer questions on the topics that you have already wrote about its easier to keep it vague and draw the user to click on your link in the source (level 2).

Once you have done this a dozen times or better you will see *hot* topics within the questions and research and write about the topic. Once you have done this then you can answer more questions obtaining to the article in vague so users visit your site. If you are smart with this and know how to mess with ad placement etc. you site will be bringing in a small number of visitors with Y! Answers and maybe make you a few cents a day.

I myself started building my site on Nov 20th, 2011 and didn't start to promote till around the beginning of December after I had some content. I was answering 20 questions a day for the first week or so, then about 25-30 a day once my level was raised and I could post more answers, and then once I reached level 3 I only answer 10-20 questions daily. With this method your traffic should steadily increase and keep increasing as long as you post a few answers daily.

If you want some estimated traffic numbers on this way to get traffic, I have been doing this method for the last 40 days and within the last 40 days my max number of visitors a day has been 155 and top Adsense revenue for 1 day is $4.95 and also earned over $25 in the past month and 9 days and increasing daily. My site has gone past the $1 a day point and traffic plus earnings are growing daily.

The future of this method is up to you... I am going to build more sites and use this method for traffic and niches to earn more daily. At the moment I have already started 1 more site which I have a great niche also and should be earning another $1 a day by the end of January. If this happens then February I am focusing on 5 more sites so by end of Feb. I will be earning $7 a day by simply answering 35 questions taking me around 15 minutes.

Couldn't agree with you more :)

I have a level 4 account that is almost 3 years old. Every day, I answer about 3-5 questions in my niche, and drop my link in the "source" section. I have a whole bunch of other accounts that I use to vote my answer as "Best Answer".

What I've realized is that, I don't need to use proxies or anything when logging in and out of various accounts. Seems like Yahoo doesn't give a shit.

It's really easy to be successful with Y/A... give real answers that people will actually thank you for!
Of course, drop a link in the source, but be very discrete. Those suckers love to report your ass.

How to improve our level rating in Yahoo, well if we post our link below on each comment, they taught we are spam them and our account even got suspended.
    risky though

sounds good, but very time consuming. Does it really takes you 15 mins to answer 35 questions?

@thedon23 - No its not about the proxies I don't think... when you answer a lot of questions with a link in the source say 20+ at one time then Y! seems to take a hold on give you 999 errors for about a day or two because you have been spamming heavily and then seems to remove the warning and then you can do it again. If you spread answers out from about 5-10 every couple hours then Y! seems to be OK with the idea lol.

@xboxps3wow - Yes I do try to give people real answers also... My best answer rate is over 20% but I have never voted for mine to be chosen as best answer they just seem to happen and I don't pick ones without answers to answer so I have a better rate, I just go threw and answer the ones that relate to my niche and in my answer I tell them I am going to leave a link in the source for what they are looking for and that they should check it out and magic happens from there. It seems to be when I direct my visitors like go to the site and click this in the navigation or something like it I get a better CTR % at the end of the day and more money...

I think I can answer about 1 every 2 minutes and that is with almost a full paragraph answer which is very detailed but vague so they visit my site. Its not very time consuming when traffic is flowing threw at 150-200 visitors a day and growing ;)

I remember back in the day I bought 100 "best answers" for $25 linking to my movie site with a gateway. It made the $25 back within a week or so. It's definitely a good source of traffic.

I've been using YA for a long time. I like helping others whenever I have the knowledge to do so, and since lots of my money sites are also related to stuff I find interesting (Things like fitness, web development, motion graphics, advertising, etc.), leaving the odd link to one of them doesn't look (and isn't actually) spammy at all.

Of course there's the BH approach, where you'll need to juggle different accounts, age them and then go kamikaze with the spammy answers/vote combo, and pray the accounts don't get reported that much.

OK, for a different point of view.

Incredible source of traffic? 155 visitors/day? $25 earned in one month? No offense, but that's shit for ROI on a shitton of work. There are way easier ways to make cash, which don't require nearly that amount of work.

You guys are settling for peanuts.

I see what you're saying bro. But this is how I look at it. I don't spend all day on Yahoo Answers. Like I said, I drop like 5 answers a day or so. Each one takes me a minute, literally. I vote them best answer. They will bring my traffic for a long time to come.

It's certainly not the best source of traffic, but I'll take all the traffic I can get :D

You have to know your niche well to answer questions and get traffic. It requires knowledge and lot of time. If you start to scale this thing you will need to hire some assistants because you will spend whole day for those answers..

Yes, NOW it takes you a minute each. But before you get to that level you need to invest quite a lot of time into doing research and establishing your account.

Again, there are easier way of doing this. If after 40 days of work all you get is $5/day from AdSense, you're doing something wrong.

Hm, point taken. Enlighten me then. Looks like I've wasted a lot of time. :p

I'm being serious btw. I'd like to hear what sort of ideas you have. I've had this problem in the past. Sometimes I feel like I waste time doing grunt work for no reason.

Well, if you don't mind doing grunt work, then there are many people on here who prefer to handle the strategy part, with whom you could JV. They handle the research and strategy, you take care of implementing stuff practically. You split the profits and everyone's happy. Plus you get to learn a thing or two as well. ;)

What tools do you have at your disposal? Hell, you can make more than $5/day with Fiverr and you don't get to wait 40 days before it starts coming in at that level...

I think I will add you guys (some of you) on Skype and create a private channel for YA. SO we can live chat some things about it, in a more deeper manner. (<_O dat sounds quite gay..sorry)

I love the YA bh concept we do! On a long term, you get to make yourself an autopilot 'spaceship' that banks decently!

Good strategy. I have done this a few times with some articles I wrote. I find that if I write as much as I can to answer the question it usually gets picked for the best answer. I think that when you include your url in the source box it helps your url get indexed faster. I have found that my best answers have gone to the top of yahoo search engine and bing.

Also, you might want to make a google alert. insite:"answers.yahoo.com" "niche keyword" that way can get notified right away when people ask questions instead of searching YA.
