I know 3 years ago everybody was saying that .com/.net/.org rank better than .info. Does this stand correct in this age and day also or is it irrelevant now? What about .pw and .xyz?

    Thanks!

No. It doesn't make any difference to ranking .. At least that's what the big G are saying.

From what I've noticed working with ranking hundreds of websites over the past several years is that .com, .net, and .org rank higher than other TLD's for sure still. But it completely depends on the keywords. If you're trying to rank for ladybugs, ladybugs.com is going to outperform ladybugs.xyz, but ladybugs.xyz will likely outperform superpowerfulladybugsmcawesome12.com.

In most cases, TLDs are the second best choice .

All TLDs rank the same (not sure about gov & edu tho)

It just feels like .info ranks worst because there are far more registered .com than .info, therefore you see less .info than .com websites in top ranks.

IMO .com and .net are very good and seo friendly which are good to rank.

    I still prefer .coms.
If the time comes to sell a website, a .com will always fetch the highest price (all other things being equal).

No matter whether Google/search algo treating them same or different.
Main thing is ,if a user found your site (niche.xyz) in a search result page and in the same page (myniche.com or .net) exist, 90 of 100 times , people will go with .com or .net domain
    that/s make the different

This is very much untrue. .gov and .edu are above .com/.net/.org, but .info is even further down the list. Generally, those who purchase .info domains have less experience using SEO tactics or web optimization in general. When I was younger and just starting out before I started making bank, I would purchase .info domains just because they were cheaper.
