Now that .XXX domains are open for registration, I imagine there's a big land grab going on right now, but is it worth the $99 registration fee to snap up a couple.

After a few minutes of searching, I found one that's a single word domain with 6 million monthly searches. Worth grabbing it up and trying to resell? I don't see any .XXX domains on Flippa yet.

that remains to be seen.
I'm still waiting for .mobi to blow up

.xxx will be big, because all the legit porn site, bangbros, relityking etc all get their first dib at their trademark name etc etc, so all the keywords one will be swooped up right away. Better to Get it then not.

Anyone see value in non-porn related keywords on the .xxx TLD? What about brand names, or is that a bad idea?

Flippa don't allow porn sites, so it will be interesting if to see if they allow .xxx domain sales ...

A lot of the major porn players are unhappy with the xxx domain and feel it will cause porn to split from the mainstream (as it has established itself) and are unhappy at the prospect of having to register potentially hundreds of domains to protect their trademarks.

Also i don't expect to see a shift towards the official use of the xxx tld as i see their purchase as a "covering all bases" rather than an exodus from their established domains.

That last part covers it.

I really dont think, at least in the short term there will be any mass movements to .xxx from a visitor stand point (they just isn't enough awareness or branding, and there wont be major campaigns to bring that along thanks to it being adult related and shyed away from)... they're just covering their a ss by grabbing the domains and holding them.
