I'm investigating buying XRumer. I was reading on SharePro's Xrumer service thread that he uses a dedicated server. I'd never heard that such a thing was necessary. Can anyone elaborate on the physical requirements for using XRumer effectively?
You don't need a dedicated server . It certainly helps with speed though. I run it on a dedicated server via vmWare.. I run 300+ threads without trouble.. I would suggest at least 1gb of ram and 256kbps+ internet connection.
I've got 15mbps connection at home and a system sitting around with AMD dual core+2gig ram, is this enough to run xrumer effectively or do I really need to rent another dedicated server? Just wondering before I decide on purchasing.
That largely depends on how effective you want to run it. A 15mbps (is it 15mbps upstream also?) is pretty good, but still nothing compared to a dedicated server with 100/1000mbps.
Personally I would be more than happy with a 15mbps upstream - definitely enough to make the money back you spent on xrumer and for testing and playing around. Once your xrumer efforts become more financially successful you can always move up to a dedicated server later on.
actually they upgraded me to 20mbps so it's 20 down/5 up
I don't mind if it's a little slow because I can just run it 24/7 since this is a spare machine. Thanks for the answer. Going to give it a try I think.
May i know whether the email account auto create by xrumer can be use to register for the forum? Because i hear the owner say that most forum dont accept free email account. So if anyone already have xrumer5, please give some info because i dont want to invest anymore money after buying xrumer5. Thanks
